    Air Algerie Flight Diverts to Algiers due to Landing Gear Issue

    Air Algerie flight AH-1113 made an emergency landing in Algiers, Algeria, on December 8th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Paris Orly Airport, France, to Bejaia, Algeria, was diverted due to an issue with the landing gear.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    What: Air Transat/ Boeing 737-800, en route from Havana Cuba to Montreal,QC Canada
    Where: Florida
    When: Jan 17th 2011
    Who: 167 aboard
    Why: While en route south of Miami, the plane encountered turbulence. The seat belt sign was on, and cabin crew were seated. The flight experienced turbulents for about two minutes and the plane dropped 500 feet before stabilizing. There were no injuries. The flight continued on to Montreal.

    Aegean Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Athens

    Aegean Airlines flight A3-880 had to return and make an emergency landing in Athens, Greece, on February 24th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Vienna, Austria, but had to turn back due to computer problems.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Frontier Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Albuquerque

    Frontier Airlines flight F9-1839 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on May 20th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from Tulsa, Oklahoma, to San Diego, California, was diverted after an unidentified odor was noticed in the aft cabin.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and twenty-nine passengers and six crew members remained unharmed.

    Small Plane Crashes at Gainesville Airport; 1 Dead, 1 Injured

    A small plane crashed at Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport in Gainesville, Florida, on November 17th.

    The Lancair International Legacy plane was carrying two people when it went down.

    The pilot, identified as Robert Carlisle Alberhasky, 68, of Cumming, was killed in the crash. His passenger Mark Lewis, 69, of Flowery Branch, was injured and was taken to a hospital.

    The FAA and the NTSB are investigating.
