    Flydubai Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Istanbul

    Flydubai flight FZ-751 made an emergency landing in Istanbul, Turkey, on April 5th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane flying from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, was on approach to Sabiha Gokçen International Airport when the crew reported an issue with the flaps and entered a hold.

    The plane subsequently landed safely on second approach. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Dallas

    A small plane made an emergency landing in Dallas, Texas, on February 11th.

    Authorities said the pilot reported engine issues before the plane landed in a field near South Lancaster Road and Loop 12 in southeast Oak Cliff.

    There were 2 people aboard at the time; both of them remained uninjured.

    The plane was flying from Dallas Executive Airport at the time.

    128th Air Refueling Wing Plane Makes Emergency Landing

    128th Air Refueling Wing.A 128th Air Refueling Wing plane had to make an emergency landing at Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, due to mechanical issues, on August 7.

    The incident happened when the KC-135R Stratotanker was on a routine training missions with 4 people aboard. The hydraulics on the boom, used for fueling, stopped working at about 2 p.m. when it was flying over Illinois.

    The plane safely landed after about 40 minutes. 128th Air Refueling Wing Col. James Locke said, “The air crew is trained and disciplined, and they know how to handle in-flight emergencies. We have simulators, and we have routine functions that make this very doable, very manageable.”

    Queasy Stomachs Land at O’Hare

    What: United Airlines Flight 167 en route to Los Angeles from Boston

    Where: diverted to O’Hare International Airport

    When: Wednesday 8:37 p.m

    Who: 138 people were on board.

    Why: When about a dozen passengers became sick during a flight, the flight was diverted to O’Hare and an EMS Plan 2 was called which sends at least 10 ambulances to the scene. Some passengers became sick from the smell of vomit on the plane. Those who fell ill were reportedly part of the same tour group of about 40. One among them reported feeling sick prior to takeoff. Four were hospitalized at Lutheran General Hospital. Fourteen declined to be hospitalized when examined by paramedics though the entire tour group was examined by paramedics. No food was served on the flight.

    Royal Jordanian Airlines Flight Diverts to Rome due to Medical Emergency

    Royal Jordanian AirlinesA Royal Jordanian Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Rome, Italy, on April 11th.

    The plane, heading from Amman, Jordan, to Chicago, was diverted after a passenger became sick mid-air.

    The plane landed uneventfully. The passenger was rushed to hospital.

    The flight resumed shortly afterwards.
