British Airways flight BA-232 made an emergency landing at Berlin Tegel Airport, Germany, on November 16th.

The Airbus A321-200 plane heading from Moscow Domodedovo Airport, Russia, to Heathrow Airport, England, was diverted due to the loss of cabin pressure.

The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

What: Air India Airbus A321-200 en route from Hyderabad to Mumbai
Where: Hyderabad
When: Aug 5th 2009
Who: 120 passengers
Why: After take-off, the APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) developed a problem. After returning to Hyderabad, maintenance dealt with the issue and within an hour the plane was back in the air. I’d like the registration on this one–we may be hearing from it again.

Lufthansa Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Izmir

Lufthansa flight LH-582 made an emergency landing in Izmir, Turkey, on June 1st.

The Airbus A321-200 plane heading from Frankfurt, Germany, to Cairo, Egypt, was diverted after an electrical odor was noticed in the aft lavatory and cabin.

The plane landed safely. All one hundred and sixty-three people aboard remained unharmed.

Chopper Carrying Indian Union Home Minister Makes Emergency Landing

A helicopter carrying Indian Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had to return and make an emergency landing at Tezpur IAF airbase in Assam, India, on December 25.

The helicopter was en-route to Kokrajhar when it was forced to return due to a technical problem.

The chopper landed back uneventfully.

Singh resumed his journey in an alternate helicopter after some time.

United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Munich

United Airlines flight UA-31 had to return and make an emergency landing in Munich, Germany, on May 30th.

The Boeing 767-300 plane took off for Newark, New Jersey, but had to return shortly afterwards due to an engine failure.

The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
