United Airlines Flight 869 returned to San Francisco International Airport, California, on the night of October 10.
The plane, heading towards Hong Kong, had to make emergency landing due to fuel shortage.

China Southern Airlines flight CZ3739 was forced to make an emergency landing in Guangzhou, Guangdong province of China, at around 9:40 p.m. on November 10.
The aircraft was en-route from Zhuhai, Guangdong to Beijing, when the crew sought permission for an emergency landing. According to the airline, the plane experienced a mechanical engine failure.
The flight landed safely and no injuries were reported.
An alternate aircraft was arranged which departed for Beijing at 1:20 a.m. on November 11.
The incident is under investigation.
Silver Airways flight 3M-70 encountered turbulence near Orlando, Florida, on August 12th.
The plane flying from Key West, Florida, was descending toward Orlando when it hit turbulence that injured five passengers.

After taking off from Birchwood, a privately owned Cessna 172P Skyhawk crashed and burned in a forest close to Birchwood Airport, in Birchwood Alaska. Pilot/owner George Kobelnyk, 64, co-pilot Christian Bohrer, 20, Sarah Glaves, 36, and Kyle Braun, 27 all died in the crash. A post impact fire destroyed much of the evidence in the debris field. Kobelnyk not only had his flight instructor certification, but also had worked for the NTSB and the FAA. Locals heard the plane was flying low before it crashed but the cause of the accident is unknown. The impact blaze started a forest fire that also had to be handled. The accident is under investigation by the NTSB, FAA, Cessna, and Lycoming who manufactured the engines. The first responders included the Chugiak Fire Department and police department. The NTSB expressed condolences.
Skymark Airlines flight 732 had to return and make an emergency landing at New Chitose Airport, Hakkaido, Japan, on August 22nd.
The aircraft en-route to Haneda, Japan, was mid-air when a passenger’s portable battery charger exploded and started emitting smoke.
The plane landed uneventfully.
All 170 passengers onboard remained unharmed.

An Air France flight had to make an emergency landing at the Moi International Airport in Mombasa, Kenya, on December 20.
According to the Police Spokesman Charles Owino, “It requested an emergency landing when a device suspected to be an explosive was discovered in the lavatory.” The plane was heading from Mauritius to Paris at the time.
The plane landed safely. All 459 passengers and 14 crew members remained unharmed.
Owino confirmed that an investigation has been launched to “determine if the device had explosives.”
