What: Ameriflight Fairchild SA-227-AC Metro III en route from Lewiston to Seattle Boeing Airfield Where: Seattle
When: Mar 10th 2011,
Who: pilot
Why: On landing in wind shear conditions, the pilot came in with late clearance to land, and veered off the runway. The fire department sprayed with foam. There were no injuries but the plane incurred gear collapse and propeller damage. The accident tied up the runway and led to diversions.

    Air France flight AF-1266 made an emergency landing in Florence, Italy, on December 28th.

    The Airbus A318-100 plane flying from Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, was on final approach when the crew reported a strong unusual smell throughout the aircraft.

    Caribbean Airlines Plane makes Safe Landing in Florida after Cabin Pressure Loss

    Caribbean AirlinesCaribbean Airlines flight BW-480 made a safe emergency landing at Fort Lauderdale- Hollywood International Airport, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on June 1st.

    The Boeing 737-800, en-route from Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, was mid-air above Bahamas when the crew had to initiate an emergency descent after encountering loss of cabin pressure.

    The plane landed safely.

    All people onboard remained unharmed.

    November Peru Crash under Investigation

    What: C Busre Swearingen SA-227 Metro III, en route from Jorge Chavez International Airport Lima to Andahuaylas
    Where: Andahuaylas Peru
    When: Nov 13 2010
    Who: 17 passengers, 2 crew
    Why: The plane overran the runway while landing at Andahuaylas. The plane incurred significant damage while landing with an apparent left hand brake failure that skewed toward the downslope, but no one was reported injured.

    The US statement of jurisdiction of the event posted on December 2, 2010, says that the investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Peruvian government.

    Falling Chopper amended to Hard Landing in Brazil

    What: Golden Fly Taxi Aereo Robinson R-22 Beta II
    Where: km 17 of the highway Ayrton Senna, in Guarulhos City, Brazil
    When: Sept 24, 2012
    Who: 2 aboard
    Why: A Robinson 22 helicopter used by “Golden Fly” for training flights made ??a forced landing on September 24. Although at first the Fire Department reported that the plane fell, the report was corrected to be listed as a hard landing. The Fire Department responded with four vehicles and the Military Police (MP) sent a chopper. The two crew members aboard suffered no injuries.

    Air Zimbabwe Plane made Safe Landing in South Africa after Overflowing Lavatory

    airzimAir Zimbabwe flight UM-467 made a safe landing at O. R. Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, South Africa, on December 6.

    The Boeing 767-200 was flying from Harare, Zimbabwe, when water started overflowing from one of its lavatories and entered into its cabin.

    The plane landed safely.

    No one was injured.

    When: Oct 3 2010
    Why: On Sept 16, the same plane had had another hard landing causing damage.

    On this flight, the plane accelerated for reasons unknown during a hard landing on arrival at Bristol. Unspecified damages occurred, no injuries reported.
