    Lufthansa CityLine Plane Continues for Safe Landing in Germany

    LufthansaLufthansa CityLine flight LH-2311 continued for a safe landing at Munich Airport, Munich, Bavaria, Germany, on March 30.

    The Embraer ERJ-195, flying from Amsterdam, Netherlands, was on approach to Munich’s runway when the crew reported unusual odor and smoke on board.

    The plane landed safely.

    All people onboard remained unharmed.

    United Airlines Flight makes Safe Landing in Chicago; 1 injured

    United ExpressA United Airlines flight UA-664 made a safe landing at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, Illinois, on November 13.

    The Airbus A319-100, en-route from Vancouver, Canada to Chicago, USA, encountered turbulence mid-air, forcing the crew to descend the aircraft.

    The plane landed safely.

    The flight attendant aboard sustained minor injuries.

    Mahan Flight W5-613 Emergency Landing in Iran

    What: Mahan Airbus A300-600 en route from Tehran to Mashad
    Where: Mashad
    When: Sep 4th 2011
    Who: 230 passengers
    Why: The hard landing of Mahan flight W5-613 blew out the nose wheel tires, causing the flight to skid off the runway on collapsed nose gear.

    Slides were used to evacuate the flight, injuring eleven in the process, all of whom initially went to the hospital. Three were retained with serious injuries.

    Expediency Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaii was among the injured.

    AI Tires Blown

    On Feb 2, Air India Flight AI-191, a Boeing 777-337ER, en route from Ahmedabad to Mumbai blew three tires on landing. The crew was able to taxi to the gate with assistance. No injuries to the 260 passengers resulted from the blown tires, and there were no reports of injuries using the emergency exits.

    The AI flight’s eventual destination was the US. Passengers continuing their journey were provided an alternative Boeing 777.

    THere’s no indication if the tires blew do to the runway surface, tire quality, a hard landing or other reason. The incident is under investigation.

    Delta Airlines Plane makes Safe Landing in Alaska after Turbulence

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-1780 made a safe emergency landing at Fairbanks International Airport, Alaska, on June 27th.

    The Boeing 737-800, flying from Seattle, Washington, was about to land when it encountered turbulence.

    The plane landed safely.

    One of the flight attendants sustained injuries.

    Australia Ground Collision

    On landing on Oct 24, 2013 at Hamilton Airport, a training flight in a Waikato Aero Club Tecnam P2008 struck a parked Cessna 172. The twenty-five year old student pilot, parked vehicle and training vehicle all suffered injury. The parked Cessna sustained the most damage.

    Witnesses say that the pilot managed to get the plane under control as he was landing, reducing the severity of the incident. Impact occurred at low speed.

    The plane came down hard, damaging the Tecnam’s undercarriage, and the pilot’s nose and back. The pilot is suffering from shock.

    This is the first incident in the year old plane the student was flying. He was hospitalized at Waikato Hospital.
