The report questions if the flight path should have routed the passenger jet over a known war zone. The report is based on conclusions drawn by experts from Australia, Malaysia, the Ukraine, the US, Russia, the UK and the Netherlands, but those conclusions have not been revealed to the public. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau, which had experts on the committee, has not made a public statement. The final report is expected in October 2015.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Heathrow Airport

    American Airlines flight AA-67 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Heathrow Airport, England, on July 25th.

    The Boeing 777-200 plane heading from Barcelona, Spain, to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, was diverted due to problems with the lavatories.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    VietJet Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Hong Kong

    VietJet Air flight VJ982 made an emergency landing in Hong Kong, China, on October 30th.

    The plane heading from Hanoi, Vietnam, to Gimhae, South Korea, was diverted due to a technical issue.

    Hong Kong Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Loss of Cabin Pressure

    Hong Kong Airlines flight HX-693 made an emergency landing in Sapporo, Japan, on September 4th.

    The plane took off for Hong Kong, China, but had to turn back after it lost cabin pressure.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were two hundred and twenty-three passengers and twelve crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    Two Injured After Batik Air Flight Hits Turbulence

    Batik Air flight ID-6890 encountered turbulence on the way to Kualanamu International Airport, Indonesia, on October 24th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane was flying from Jakarta, Indonesia, when it hit severe turbulence that injured a passenger and a flight attendant.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. The injured were rushed to a hospital.
