    Fiji Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Auckland

    Fiji Airways flight FJ-430 made an emergency landing in Auckland, New Zealand, on September 15th.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane took off for Suva, Fiji, but had to turn back due to an issue with the crew oxygen supply.

    Commutair Plane Returns to New York after Engine Failure

    CommutAirCommutair flight C5-4968/ UA-4968 had to return and make an emergency landing at Buffalo Niagara International Airport, Cheektowaga, New York, on June 14th.

    The de Havilland Dash 8-200, en-route to Washington DC, on behalf of United Airlines, had to return when the crew noticed an engine failure just after it took off. The engine had to be shut down.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 40 people aboard remained unhurt.

    Bird-Hit Aeroflot Flight Makes Safe Landing in Saint Petersburg

    Aeroflot flight SU-42 suffered a bird strike in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on November 29th.

    The incident happened when the Boeing 737-800 plane flying from Moscow was on approach to Pulkovo International Airport in Saint Petersburg.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Qantas Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Canberra

    Qantas freight flight QF-7335 made an emergency landing in Canberra, Australia, on August 15th.

    The plane heading from Brisbane to Melbourne, Australia, was diverted after first officer became incapacitated due to issues with the cabin pressure.

    The plane landed safely. The first officer was transported to a hospital.

    Alaska Airlines Emergency Landing

    On Feb 10 2013, Alaska Airlines flight 837 en route from Norman Y Mineta San Jose Int’l Airport to Honolulu departed and returned to Mineta San Jose after a power problem in a navigation system an hour into the flight. 132 passengers and six crew were aboard.

    When the captain decided to return to Mineta San Jose, the San Jose Fire Department was on standby.

    The Boeing 737-800 (738) made a safe landing at 9:40 a.m after two hours in the air, and did not need towing.

    The replacement flight was scheduled to leave at 10:45.
