Icelandair Plane Returns to Iceland due to Gear Issue
Icelandair flight FI-631 had to return and make a safe emergency landing at Keflavik International Airport, Keflavik, Iceland, on May 21st.The Boeing 767-300, en-route to Boston, Massachusetts, was climbing out of Keflavik’s runway when the crew detected retraction issue with the gear, prompting the plane to return.
The plane landed safely. All people onboard remained unharmed.
The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

Delta Jet Makes Safe Emergency Landing in Managua
A Delta airliner had to return and make an emergency landing at Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in Managua, Nicaragua, on March 6.The Airbus 320, carrying 124 passengers, was taking off from the airport when the crew reported an issue in its forward landing gear. The pilot then turned back and made a safe emergency landing in Managua. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
According to director of Nicaraguan Institute of Civil Aviation Mario Altamirano, “They were preparing for an emergency landing and made it in what we call ‘dead time,’ in other words, when it wouldn’t conflict with other flights.”
