The Atlas Air Boeing 747 en route from Everett to Japan had taken off when the hydraulics failed. When the nose gear doors failed, pilots did a fly by and returned to the airport.
The 747 is retrofitted to carry Dreamliner parts, and dubbed a “dreamlifter.”
On November 2nd, 2013, the two Skydive Superior Cessnas (Cessna A185F Skywagon #WN94059, Cessna 182 #N6068Y) were flying over Wisconsin when one flew into another, forcing eleven people into emergency mode. Two pilots and nine skydivers made it to the ground alive, though part of the plane was described as breaking off into a fireball of burning debris that the skydivers had to avoid while they were coming down. The nine skydivers had been planning a tandem jump.
The Skywagon encountered wake turbulence, which lead to the collision and breakup of the lead aircraft.
Four jumpers were aboard the lead plane that broke apart.
One plane broke up and burned; the other pilot managed to land. The pilot of one plane used his emergency parachute and was injured enough on landing that he was hospitalized. The other managed to land at the airport, albeit with a broken wing and propeller.
The FAA is investigating.

What: American Airlines Boeing 757-200 en route from San Francisco,CA to Honolulu,HI Where: San Francisco When: Dec 6th 2010 Who: 98 passengers Why: The plane took off successfully but developed a bleed air problem in the left engine. The bleed air issue is more routine than problematic but dealing with it is certainly a best practice; the crew had to burn off fuel to land, and circled; but then diverted to LAX for the maintenance facilities. On arrival to LAX, passengers were booked onto alternative flights.

What: Sunexpress Boeing 737-800 en route from Antalya to Saarbruecken, Germany Where: Antalya Turkey When: Nov 7th 2009 Who: 127 passengers Why: After takeoff, the flight developed a problem with cabin pressure, and also developed a smoky smell. The plane returned to Turkey for a safe landing.
Passengers debarked without incident, and were provided an alternative flight.
The smell was determined to have originated in the oxygen generators.

What: Global Air Boeing 737-200 en route from from Mexico City to Puerto Vallarta Where: Puerto Vallarta When: Nov 4th 2010 1 p.m. Who: 99 passengers and 5 crew Why: While on approach to Puerto Vallarta, the plane’s nose gear would not extend, in spite of several flybys where the tower verified the nose gear was not extended.
The plane eventually made a belly landing on foam with emergency services on standby. Pilot Jorge Luz Campos landed the plane with no injuries.
