    PIA Flight Makes Safe Landing in Pakistan after Bird Strike

    Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-760 made a safe landing at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, Pakistan, on December 23rd.

    The Boeing 777-200 flying from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was approaching the runway when its left hand engine ingested a bird.

    The plane landed safely.

    All people aboard remained unharmed.

    Beech Crashes House in Miami Gardens

    What: Beech 18 (N18R)
    Where: near Opa-Locka Airport, Miami Gardens Florida
    When: May 2, 2010
    Who: pilot Harry Trauffer
    Why: Right after takeoff, the pilot of the twin engine Beechcraft 18 cargo plane that was carrying household goods to the Bahamas radioed he was going down, before he clipped trees, crashed through a fence and 2 cars and into a residential yard. Neighbors were at home at the time of the crash, and witnessed it.

    More than 90 Miami-Dade firefighters were on the scene. Although we saw reports that the fire only caused smoke damage to the exterior of the home, and that it did not strike the building, it is clear in the video that the house was breached by the plane, and there were several areas of the house that were on fire. The family is staying elsewhere and no one in the house was injured.

    The pilot who was killed in the crash was 64 year old Harry Trauffer, who regularly flew clothing, bedding and auto parts to the Bahamas.

    Delta Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Orlando

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-1827 made an emergency landing in Orlando, Florida, on August 28th.

    The plane flying from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Atlanta, Georgia, was diverted after the crew reported a flaps problem.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    Two Planes Collide Near Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, CA

    SfTwo planes, returning from the Pacific Coast Dream Machines festival, collided over the northern San Francisco Bay.

    According to Ian Gregor, the spokesperson of the FAA, the planes involved in the incident were single-engine Hawker Sea Fury TMK 20 and single-engine Cessna 210.

    The planes took off from Eagle’s Nest Airport for participating in the Pacific Coast Dream Machines festival, which is held annually at the Half Moon Bay Airport. Both the planes were on their way back home when they collided at about 4:05 pm, near the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge.

    The Sea Fury was able to reach Eagle’s Nest Airport in Ione, Northern California, where it landed 40 minutes after the collision. The Amador county Undersheriff, Jim Wegner, confirmed that the passengers of Sea Fury plane, a husband and wife, remained injured and did not need medical attention.

    The Cessna plane crashed into the bay. Crews found the debris in San Pablo Bay however, Loumania Stewart, the Coast Guard Petty Officer said that they have not found any clues about the pilot yet.

    As per the FAA records, the Sea Fury belongs to Sanders Aeronautics Inc., a company specializing in aircraft restoration. The company website reveals that the sanders brothers; Dennis and Brian Sanders, are air racers.

    Two Dead After Small Plane Crashes in Weld County

    small planeA small plane crashed near Roads 50 and 53 in Weld County, Colorado, near Kersey, on the afternoon of February 11.

    There were 2 people aboard the three-seat experimental Wheeler Express when it crashed. Authorities said both of them were killed. Their identities have not yet been disclosed.

    According to the FAA records, the plane is registered to Richard Lacourse of Aurora.

    A small grass fire erupted after the crash which was put out immediately.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    Aerolineas Estelar Flight Returns to Santo Domingo

    Aerolineas Estelar flight E4-8362 made an emergency landing in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on December 16th.

    The Boeing 737-200 plane took off for Caracas, Venezuela, but had to turn back after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines due to a series of loud bangs.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
