What: Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200 en route from Atlanta to Los Angeles
Where: Atlanta
When: Jun 21st 2011
Who: 174 passengers
Why: Taking off out of Atlanta, the left hand engine indicated fire.
The engine was shut down, and pilots made a landing back in Atlanta, ten minutes after takeoff. Passengers exited via emergency slides, resulting in three injuries.
External examination of the engine reveals charring, and results of a fire inside the cowl.
