Air Niugini flight PX-275 had to return for an emergency landing in Kavieng, Papua New Guinea, on May 23rd.
The plane took off for Rabaul, Papua New Guinea, but had to return shortly afterwards due to smoke in the cockpit.
At least one tire deflated as the plane landed in Kavieng. No injuries were reported.
Seventy-Two Children Treated at Heathrow Airport After Falling ill Midair
Seventy-two children aboard Emirates flight EK007, coming from Cape Town, South Africa to Heathrow airport on Sunday, suffered from diarrhea mid air.
The children aged 10 to 14, were part of a Welsh choir. They were on their way back after performing in Cape Town when they began vomiting. The crew members then requested emergency services at Heathrow airport to provide medical aid to the sick children.
Especially trained paramedics from the ‘Hazardous area response team’ were waiting at the scene when the Airbus A380 touched the ground. Sixty Children were treated at the spot while 12 were taken to a hospital. The hospital sources confirmed that all children were released late night after they received treatment for diarrhea.

Why: While en route, the right engine was shut down. According to wptv witnesses aboard the flight, “there was an explosion. Then, all of a sudden, everything stopped, and it just got totally quiet, and everyone started to panic.” Passengers took photos of the plane’s stopped propellor; and then the plane began shaking, and they could feel the weight on the left side.
Pilots returned to Portland and made a safe landing. An inspection of the plane is underway.
A replacement jet was provided.
TUI fly Belgium Flight Diverts to Brussels After Bird Strike
TUI fly Belgium flight TB-5697 made an emergency landing in Brussels, Belgium, on September 14th.
The Boeing 737-800 Max plane heading from Ostend, Belgium, to Palma de Mallorca Airport, Spain, was diverted due to a bird strike.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
