    Helicopter Crashed in Logan County; Pilot Seriously Injured

    helicopterAn MD 500 helicopter crashed west of Township Road 188 in Liberty Township of Bellefontaine, Logan County, Ohio, at about 4:45 p.m. on July 29.

    Leo Boucher, 50, pilot of the crashed helicopter suffered life threatening injuries and is being treated at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Boucher works for South Carolina-based Rotor Blade.

    The Ohio Highway Patrol post at Marysville rules out use of any alcohol or drugs by the pilot.

    The helicopter was equipped with an aerial saw and was deployed for tree-trimming and brush-clearing for a bike path. Apparently the pilot lost control of the helicopter and crashed into the tree line.

    The crash remains under investigation by the FAA.

    Why: While en route, the pilot declared an emergency due to an engine fire, then diverted to make a safe landing in Little Rock Arkansas. Passengers were provided access to alternative flights to Washington.

    Flybe Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Glasgow

    Flybe flight BE-783 had to return and make an emergency landing in Glasgow, Scotland, on February 23rd.

    The plane took off for Birmingham, England, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

    The plane landed safely. All 46 people aboard remained unharmed.

    Delta Plane Diverts to Kansas due to Hydraulic Leak

    Delta flight DL-2420 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Kansas City International Airport, Kansas, on February 13th.

    The Airbus A319-100, flying from Saint Louis, Missouri, to Salt Lake City, Utah, had to divert due to hydraulic leak.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 124 people aboard remained safe.

    Andes Lineas Aereas Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Argentina

    Andes Lineas Aereas flight OY-855 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Tucuman Airport, Argentina, on March 7th.

    The plane heading from San Salvador de Jujuy to Buenos Aires, Argentina, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and forty-four people aboard remained unharmed.
