    Southwest Airlines Reno Flight Diverted Due to Smoke

    What: Southwest Airlines Boeing en route from Oakland to Reno
    Where: Oakland
    When: August 28, 2012
    Who: 119 passengers
    Why: Southwest Flight 2899 took off but moments later at about 9:30 a.m., a flight attendant smelled smoke.

    Pilots diverted the flight back to Oakland and made a safe landing. Fire and rescue crews were on standby.

    Small Plane Crashed in Oklahoma; 1 Dead, 1 Injured

    Beechcraft BonanzaA single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza crashed in Colbert, Oklahoma, on the afternoon of July 26.

    The plane, carrying 2 people, was heading from Springfield, Missouri, to Fort Worth Spinks Airport, Texas, when it apparently lost power and crashed.

    Charles S Fehr, 64, died in the crash while his 64 year-old wife Vicki Fehr sustained injuries.

    The NTSB and the FAA are investigating the accident.

    American Airlines Plane Diverts to Tennessee due to Bomb Threat

    American Airlines flight 1804 made an emergency landing at McGhee Tyson Airport, Tennessee, on January 31st.

    The plane flying from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Indianapolis, Indiana, was diverted due to a bomb threat.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    No explosive material was found upon inspection.

    4 Injured After Fort Lauderdale-Bound Spirit Airlines Plane Hits Turbulence

    Spirit Airlines flight NK-265 encountered severe turbulence near Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on December 5th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane flying from Atlantic City, New Jersey, was descending toward Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport when it hit turbulence that injured one passenger and three crew members.

    The plane continued for a safe landing.

    Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Nose Gear Problem

    Delta Airlines flight DL-3980 had to return and make an emergency landing in Evansville, Indiana, on July 13th.

    The plane took off for Atlanta, Georgia, but had to turn back due to a nose gear problem.
