What: Lufthansa Boeing 747-400 en route from Buenos Aires Ezeiza,BA (Argentina) to Frankfurt/Main Where: Buenos Aires

Who: 289 passengers
Why: After taking off from Buenos Aires, one engine ingested a bird or birds, and developed engine problems. The pilots dumped fuel and returned to land back in Buenos Aires with emergency services on standby.
Passengers disembarked in Buenos Aires, and were provided hotel accommodations while waiting for a Tuesday flight.
December 25, 2012, a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 en route from Denver to Kansas City International diverted to Omaha and made a safe landing at Omaha’s Eppley Airfield. None of the 109 passengers and five crew members were injured.
The plane developed a fuel valve problem while en route.
Passengers were provided an alternative vehicle.
United Airlines flight 1463 en route from Chicago to John Wayne Airport, Los Angeles, made a safe emergency landing at Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita, Kansas, just after 10:30 p.m. on June 29.
A spokesman with the FAA said that an emergency evacuation slide of the Boeing 737-700 opened up in midair. According to reports, the plane dropped from 38,000 ft. to 11,000 ft. in just 12 minutes due to a loss in cabin pressure.
The plane landed safely and the United Airlines confirmed that all 96 passengers and 5 crew members aboard remained unhurt.
Passengers remained seated for about an hour before disembarking. They were taken to their destination on an alternate flight.
United Airline’s maintenance crew is checking the plane to determine the cause.
Delta Airlines flight DL-9958 had to return and make an emergency landing in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 28th.
The Boeing 767-300 plane took off for Boston, Massachusetts, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a pressurisation issue.
The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.
EasyJet flight 8529, on its way from Gatwick to Naples, had to make an emergency landing at Rome Fiumicino Airport in Rome, Italy, on September 1.
The aircraft, with 154 passengers and 6 crew members aboard, was diverted after it experienced severe turbulence due to thunderstorms in Naples. According to some passengers, 3 stewards were injured as their heads hit the ceiling.
The plane was able to make a safe emergency landing in Rome after which the passengers were transported to Naples by coach.
According to the airline, “Unfortunately due to the turbulence one of our crew sustained an injury, and as such were met by paramedics upon arrival at Rome Fiumicino airport in line with our procedures…EasyJet would like to apologize to passengers for any inconvenience caused.”
Monarch Airlines flight ZB-492 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Gatwick Airport, London, UK, on September 14th.
The Airbus A321-200 flying from Birmingham, UK, to Alicante, Spain, had to divert due to a hydraulic issue.
The plane landed safely.
No one was injured.
