    What: Fuerza Aérea Mexicana (FAM) Cessna 182S en route from Morelia.
    Where: Michoacán Mexico
    When: OCT 02, 2009
    Who: 3 fatalities
    Why: There was fog in the mountains, and the control tower lost contact with the aircraft as the plane was conducting aerial surveys south of the hill “La Union.”

    The cause is under investigation.

    Lost in the crash were Aviator PEDRERO ANTONIO SERGIO NAVARRETE and Air Force Lieutenant Flying Pilot VICENTE ALVAREZ Emilio Castillo and air observer, Chap. 2 / o. Infantry GARIBAY FRANCISCO JAVIER GOMEZ

    United Airlines Plane Returns to Newark Liberty International Airport

    United airlinesUnited Airlines flight 922 had to return and make an emergency landing at Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey, on January 14.

    The flight departed for London Heathrow Airport at around 10 a.m. but had to turn back shortly afterwards after the crew reported smoke in the cabin.

    The Boeing 767-300 landed back uneventfully. All 84 passengers and 13 crew members remained unharmed.

    Airline spokesperson Rahsaan Johnson said, ‘We cancelled the flight so our maintenance team could service the aircraft, and we provided customers alternate flights to their destinations.’

    Turkey-Bound Thomas Cook Plane Returns to England after Hydraulic Problem

    Thomas CookThomas Cook flight MT-2684 returned and made an emergency landing at Manchester Airport, England, on October 21.

    The Airbus A321-200, heading to Adnan Menderes Airport, Izmir, Turkey, had to return due to hydraulic problem.

    The plane landed safely.

    No injuries were reported.

    The passengers were accommodated in a replacement flight.

    What: Qantas B737-400 en route from Adelaide to Melbourne
    Where: Melbourne
    When: Jan 24, 2011
    Who: 99 passengers and six crew
    Why: On experiencing an air conditioning problem, (turning off an overheated air conditioning system and the second system shut down), the plane lost cabin pressure. Thirty minutes out of Melbourne, the pilot descended to 10,000 feet, and continued to make a safe landing at Melbourne.

    British Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Bordeaux–Merignac Airport

    British Airways flight BA-2715 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Bordeaux–Merignac Airport, France, on October 19th.

    The plane heading from Malaga, Spain, to Gatwick Airport, England, was diverted after it underwent a rapid descent.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
