    Ethiopian Airlines Flight Returns to Addis Ababa After Engine Failure

    Ethiopian Airlines flight ET-638 had to return and make an emergency landing in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on August 7th.

    The Boeing 787-800 plane took off for Singapore but had to turn back due to an engine failure.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing at Aberdeen International Airport

    An offshore helicopter made an emergency landing at Aberdeen International Airport in Scotland, United Kingdom, on May 16.

    The helicopter, belonging to Babcock Mission Critical Services Offshore Ltd., declared emergency while flying over North Sea.

    According to a Babcock Mission Critical Services Offshore spokesperson, “We can confirm that an s-92 helicopter requested priority landing at Aberdeen airport after crew reported a cockpit warning light illumination…The aircraft made an uneventful landing just after 2pm and the 18 passengers on board were given a de-brief by the crew…The aircraft is currently being examined by engineers and will be subject to a detailed series of checks and tests before it’s returned to service.”

    Air China Plane Rejects Take Off due to Engine Failure

    Air ChinaAir China flight CA-1661 rejected take off from Beijing Airport in China, on July 31st.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane was accelerating to take off for Changchun, China, when the crew reported vibrations in one of the engines and decided to stop.

    The passengers were safely evacuated via emergency slides.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    Germania Airlines Plane Returns to Germany due to Unusual Odor

    GermaniaGermania Airlines flight ST-3356 made an emergency landing in Erfurt, Germany, on September 22nd.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane took off for Tenerife–South Airport, Spain, but had to turn back after the crew reported an unusual odor in the cockpit.

    The plane landed safely. All 119 passengers aboard remained safe.

    Qeshm Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Iran

    Qeshm Airlines flight 2264 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Yazd, Iran, on February 13th.

    Director general of Kerman province’s airports Ali Qasemzadeh said the plane heading from Najaf, Iraq, to Kerman, Iran, was diverted “due to unstable conditions of a passenger.”

    The plane landed safely.
