    Brussels Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Brussels

    Brussels Airlines flight SN-515 had to return and make an emergency landing in Brussels, Belgium, on September 11th.

    The Airbus A330-200 plane took off for Washington Dulles International Airport, Virginia, but had to turn back after the crew noticed an issue with an engine fuel control computer.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and fifty-five passengers remained unharmed.

    Missing Russian Chopper Located, All 7 Alive

    What: Russian Emergency Chopper Mil Mi-8MTV-1 #RF-31129
    Where: Altan, Trans-Baikal area Russia
    When: 09-OCT-2011
    Who: 7 aboard
    Why: The missing chopper was located and all aboard are alive. 15 units of equipment and 115 rescuers were engaged in the search. When the flight failed to check in at 12:45, it was declared missing.

    Three crew members and 4 Avialesookhrana representitives were all in good condition, found in the Trans-Baikal region of Kyrinskom. An emergency chopper picked up the 7 and flew them to the First Municipal Hospital in Chita.

    Galley Odor Diverts Flybe to Manchester

    What: Flybe de Havilland Dash 8-400 from Birmingham to Aberdeen
    Where: Manchester
    When: Jan 26th 2010
    Who: 30 passengers
    Why: While en route, a burning smell was detected. The flight diverted to Manchester where it made a safe landing. Passengers debarked on the runway via stairs.

    The burning smell originated in the galley.

    A replacement jet was provided.

    United Airlines Flight Returns to SFO

    United airlinesUnited Airlines Flight 5064 had to return and make an emergency landing at San Francisco International Airport, California, on April 1.

    The plane, bound for Calgary, Canada, had to turn back some 30 minutes into the flight after the crew reported smoky odor in the cabin.

    The plane landed uneventfully and everyone aboard remained safe.

    The flight was being operated by SkyWest Airlines.

    Why: While en route, a passenger suffered a medical emergency.

    Pilots diverted to Winnipeg where they made a safe landing. The unidentified passenger was transported by paramedics to a hospital in Winnipeg.
