Russian Military Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in Hama, Syria

A Russian military helicopter made an emergency landing in Hama, Syria, on October 6th.

The Mi-28 helicopter was escorting a Mi-8 transport helicopter when it experienced a technical fault.

The aircraft landed safely. No injuries were reported.

    Where: off Semarang, Java at sea
    When: Nov 19 2009 10:15 am
    Who: 5 aboard
    Why: While en route, the search and rescue helicopter crashed from 5 meters into the sea. The pilot, co-pilot and three instructors were taken to the hospital with injuries.

    It is suspected that the helicopter was flying too low and tipped the surface of the ocean.

    American Airlines Flight Diverts to Denver due to Smoke in Cabin

    american airlinesAmerican Airlines flight AA-569 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Denver, Colorado, on October 30th.

    The plane flying from Los Angeles, California, to Toronto, Canada, was diverted after the crew reported smoke in the cabin.

    The plane landed safely. All 105 people aboard remained unharmed.

    Aeroflot Flight Returns to Tashkent After Cargo Door Indication

    Aeroflot Airlines flight SU-1871 had to return for an emergency landing in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on December 12th.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane took off for Moscow, Russia, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew received a cargo door indication.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Who: Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz and delegation
    Why: After holding talks in Japan, the plane developed cabin pressure problems and made an emergency landing in Beijing. The plane landed safely. The passengers return to Turkey is scheduled on Turkish Airlines.

    What: Delta Airlines Airbus A320-200 en route from Detroit to Denver
    Where: Lake Michigan
    When: Feb 28 2010
    Why: While en route, the left engine developed problems and was shut down. The flight returned to Denver and made a safe landing on the remaining engine.
