    Glider Plane Makes Emergency Landing outside Waynesville

    GliderA glider plane made an emergency landing in a field along Township Line Road and Harlan Road, just outside Waynesville, Ohio at around 5 p.m. on June 17.

    The glider pilot Kevin Anderson explained that he had to land the plane due to strong wind, however it was a “nice easy landing”.

    Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed that the incident did not cause any injuries or damage to the plane.

    KLM Cityhopper Flight Returns to Amsterdam due to Engine Vibrations

    KLM Cityhopper flight KL-1281 returned to Amsterdam, Netherlands, on June 24th.

    The plane took off for Edinburgh, Scotland, but had to return shortly afterwards due to engine vibrations.

    The plane landed back safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Egypt Air Plane makes Emergency Landing in Saudi Arabia

    EgyptAirEgypt Air flight MS-903 diverted to Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Regional Airport, Buraydah, Saudi Arabia, on September 30.

    The Airbus A321-200, en-route to Dubai, from Alexandria Borg el Arab, Egypt, had to be diverted in emergency due to loss of cabin pressure.

    The plane landed safely.

    All people aboard remained unhurt.

    What: FedEx Cessna 209 B en route from Syracuse to Plattsburg
    Where: field off Elmer Hill Road, adjacent to the intersections of Elmerhill and Chmelewski roads, Oneida County, NY
    When: Dec 03, 2009 7:45 a.m.
    Who: pilot
    Why: After his engine exploded in mid-air, the pilot–with 8,000 flight hours in this type plane–aimed to land at Griffiss International Airport. While losing altitude, he pulled the plane (with its smoking engine) up, missing several homes and then dropping to land in an open field beside the Lake Delta Volunteer Fire Department, not far from the airport.

    A contractor, Wiggins Airways, out of Manchester, New Hampshire operated the plane.

    Aer Lingus Flight Diverts to Boston due to Engine Issue

    Aer LingusAer Lingus flight EI-110 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 2nd.

    The Boeing 757-200 plane was flying from John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, to Shannon Airport, Ireland, when the crew reported a fault in the left hand engine and decided to divert.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were 115 people aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

    Southern Air Engine Fire

    What: Southern Air Cargo Boeing 747-200 en route from Liege to Portugal
    Where: Liege Belgium
    When: Oct 30th 2009
    Who: 5 crew
    Why: While en route, the plane suffered a fire in the left engine. The crew put it out, dumped fuel and landed back at Liege.
