The Airbus A330-300 plane took off for Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, but had to turn back due to issues with the weather radar.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Why: Near Cascavel the left engine caught fire. The engine was shut down and the fire suppression system activated and put it out. However, Cascavel was closed due to low visibility, and the flight diverted to Iguassu Falls. Cascavel travelers were bussed from Iguassu Falls.
Dourados and Campo Grande passengers were provided connecting flights.
Delta Airlines flight DL-128 made an emergency landing in Shemya, Alaska, on December 24th.
The Boeing 767-300 plane heading from Beijing, China, to Seattle, Washington, was diverted due to an issue with one of the engines.
The plane landed safely. All one hundred and ninety-four people aboard remained unharmed.
American Airlines flight AA-759 was intercepted by fighter jets on the way to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 19th.
The Airbus A330-300 plane flying from Athens, Greece, was in Italian Airspace when it lost radio communication, prompting the authorities to dispatch two Eurofighter jets from Istrana, Italy.
The communication was later re-established, and the fighter jets returned to the base.
The flight continued to Philadelphia.
Air Europa flight UX-98 had to return and make an emergency landing in Miami, Florida, on May 24th.
