    Swiss International Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Switzerland

    Swiss International Airlines flight LX-1019 had to make an emergency landing in Zurich, Switzerland, on August 1st.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane flying from Dusseldorf, Germany, was descending toward Zurich when the crew noticed minor brakes issues and requested emergency assistance.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All thirty-three passengers aboard remained safe.

    British airwaysBritish Airways flight BA-286 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Vancouver, Canada, on October 24th.

    The Airbus A380-800 plane heading from San Francisco, California, to London, United Kingdom, was diverted due to a medical emergency.

    Authorities said the crew declared an emergency after several passengers and crew members reported feeling sick due to fumes on board.

    The plane, carrying 433 people aboard, landed safely. Twenty-five people, including 5 passengers and 20 crew members, were taken to hospitals.

    Aer Lingus Flight Returns to John F. Kennedy International Airport

    Aer LingusAer Lingus flight EI-102 had to return and make an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, on June 26th.

    The Boeing 757-200 plane was heading to Dublin, Ireland, when the crew received an engine indication and decided to return.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    Transavia Plane Makes Hard Landing at Marrakesh Menara Airport

    Transavia flight HV-5753 made a hard landing at Marrakesh Menara Airport, Morocco, on October 10th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane flying from Amsterdam, Netherlands, was on final approach to Marrakesh when the crew aborted the approach due to gusting winds.

    The plane subsequently positioned for another approach but touched down hard.

    No injuries were reported.

    Fokker 100 Makes Emergency Landing at Zahedan Airport, Iran

    An Iranian jet en-route from the northeastern city of Mashhad to Southeastern City of Zahedan, made an emergency landing at Zahedan airport on May 10, due to landing gear malfunction.

    The Fokker 100 plane was carrying 135 passengers at the time of incident, nine of whom suffered minor injuries.

    Reza Arbabi, a spokesperson of the governor-general office of Sistan and Baluchestan province, said that one of the landing gears of the plane failed to deploy when it was about to land on the runway in Zahedan. He praised the captain for his timely reaction and skillfully handling the emergency landing.

    Where: Eppley Airfield, Omaha
    When: 3:30
    Who: 99 passengers and 7 crew
    Why: While en route, the cabin began smelling of smoke. The pilots diverted to Eppley Airfield in Omaha Nebraska and made a safe landing.

    The plane was examined and allowed to continue on, reaching Philadelphia about 6 hours later.
