    The incident happened after the helicopter’s cockpit caught fire.

    According to spokesperson of Department of Defence, Brigadier General Marthie Visser. “A Lynx helicopter of the South African Air Force conducted an emergency landing on the Milnerton Golf Course during a routine maintenance test flight today…No injuries were reported.     Turkish Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Poland

    Turkish airlinesTurkish Airlines flight TK-79 had to make an emergency landing at Warsaw Chopin Airport, Warsaw, Poland, at around 3:50 P.M. on July 30.

    The Boeing 777-300, heading from Istanbul Atatürk Airport, Turkey, to San Francisco, California, had to be landed in emergency due to an unclaimed mobile phone found in the cabin.

    The plane landed safely and all 332 people aboard remained unhurt.

    The journey continued after security clearance.

    Air France Jet Diverts to Vienna due to Burning Odor

    Air FranceAir France flight AF-1688 was forced to divert and make an emergency landing in Vienna, Austria, on October 3.

    The Airbus A319-100, en-route from Charles de Gaulle airport, France, to Bucharest Otopeni airport, Romania, had to be diverted after the crew reported a burning odor on-board.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Virgin Australia flight VA-1188 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Williamtown, New South Wales, Australia, on February 21st.

    The plane heading from Port Macquarie, to Sydney, Australia, was diverted after the crew noticed smoke in the cockpit.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Jet Airways Passenger Opens Emergency Exit Door ‘Just For Fun’

    Jet AirwaysA passenger aboard Jet Airways flight 9W 585 opened the plane’s emergency exit just after landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, India, on January 24.

    According to a Jet Airways spokesperson, “A guest, who travelled from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai by Jet Airways flight 9W 585, opened the emergency exit after the aircraft had parked at the bay at the Mumbai airport. The matter was reported to the security agencies.”

    The passenger, who apparently told the crew members that he opened the emergency exit door “just for fun”, was escorted to a local police station by security forces.

    Local media identified him as Steve Titschler, of Germany.

    Lufthansa Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Bulgaria

    Lufthansa flight LH-689 made an emergency landing in Sofia, Bulgaria, on December 26th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane heading from Tel Aviv, Israel, to Munich, Germany, was diverted after electrical smoke was noticed in aft galley.
