Southwest Airlines flight WN-1694 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Atlanta, Georgia, on May 12th.
The Boeing 737-300 flying from Tampa, Florida, to Nashville, Tennessee, had to divert due to water dripping off its ceiling, smoke, and unusual smell aboard.
The plane landed safely.
All 129 passengers aboard remained safe.
Ryanair flight FR-3883 had to reject takeoff from Malta International Airport, Malta, on May 18th.
The Boeing 737-800 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Luton Airport, England, when the crew received an aft door indication and rejected takeoff.
The plane safely returned to the apron. All one hundred and seventy-two people aboard remained unharmed.

What: Delta Airlines Boeing 767-300 en route from New York NY to Amsterdam Netherlands
Where: 150nm north of Halifax,NS
When: May 13th 2010
Why: While en route, the plane developed oil pressure problems and had to shut down an engine. They diverted to Halifax and made a cautionary landing.
Delta provided a replacement plane for the passengers within a few hours.
A Maverick Air Cessna setting out for Ohio State University in Columbus took off from Cleveland-Burke Lakefront airport, and disappeared int Lake Erie. Three adults and three children were aboard. The passengers had been to the Cleveland Cavaliers game. Coast guard Search and Rescue is searching the lake.
The plane is registered to Maverick Air and operated by Superior Beverage Group. The plane lived in a hangar at The Ohio State University airfield.
Weather conditions make the search difficult.

American Airlines flight 2478 had to make an emergency landing at Preston Smith International Airport in Lubbock, Texas, on June 11.
The plane was heading from Dallas to Sacramento when it was forced to make an emergency landing due to engine failure.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 142 people aboard remained unharmed.
Sunwing Airlines flight BY-5483 made an emergency landing in Sofia, Bulgaria, on June 21st.
The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Paphos, Cyprus, to Norwich, England, was diverted after smell of smoke was noticed on board.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

What: US Airways Airbus A-319 en route from San Jose to Phoenix to Lambert Airport in St. Louis
Where: Albuquerque International Sunport, Albuquerque, New Mexico
When: Nov 13, 2009
Who: 113 passengers and five crew
Why: After leaving Phoenix, the airbus developed a problem with its windshield, and diverted to Albuquerque where it made a safe landing. Passengers debarked safely; and alternative transportation is being found for them.
