    Southwest Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Baltimore

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-330 made an emergency landing in Baltimore, Maryland, on March 29th.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane flying from Raleigh–Durham International Airport, North Carolina, was on approach to Baltimore when the crew reported a landing gear issue.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    UPS Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Shannon Airport

    UPS flight 5X-209 made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on November 18th.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane heading from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Cologne, Germany, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    Ramp Agent Fell Asleep in Cargo Hold of LA-Bound Alaska Airlines Plane

    Alaska AirlinesAlaska Airlines flight 448 was forced to return and make an emergency landing in Seattle, Washington, on April 13.

    The plane took off for Los Angeles but had to return immediately after the pilot reported unusual banging noise.

    The plane landed back uneventfully. All 170 passengers and 6 crew members remained unharmed.

    The airline said a ramp agent was found inside the front cargo hold of the aircraft. The agent said he had fallen asleep.

    The ramp agent was taken to hospital as a precaution while the aircraft resumed the flight.

    Scandinavian Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Amsterdam

    Scandinavian Airlines flight SK-4743 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on May 29th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Oslo, Norway, to Brussels, Belgium, was diverted after the crew noticed smoke in the cabin.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Flybe Flight Diverts to Manchester After First Officer Becomes Incapacitated

    Flybe flight BE-1574 had to make an emergency landing in Manchester, England, on August 5th.

    The plane heading from Inverness, Scotland, to Jersey, Channel Islands, was diverted after the first officer became incapacitated.

    The plane landed safely. All forty-four passengers aboard remained unharmed

    The first officer was taken to hospital.

    What: TAM Linhas Aereas Airbus A330-200 en route from Orlando,FL to Sao Paulo Brazil
    Where: Miami
    When: July 19th 2011
    Why: While en route, the odor of smoke was detected.

    The crew diverted the flight to Miami where they made a safe landing less than half an hour after smoke was detected.

    Seven hours later, hopefully after a good inspection, the flight continued to Sao Paulo.
