    Aurigny Air Services Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Smell of Smoke

    Aurigny Air Services flight GR-626 had to return for an emergency landing in Guernsey, Channel Islands, on June 2nd.

    The plane took off for London Stansted Airport, England, but had to turn back after a smell of smoke was noticed on board.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Who: 132 passengers 6 crew members
    Why: The plane made an emergency landing because of a “crack on the glass of its cockpit window,” according to information released by Lion Air.

    Horizon Air Plane makes Safe Landing in California after Deer Strike

    Horizon AirHorizon Air flight QX-475 made a safe landing at Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport, Santa Rosa, California, on December 2.

    The De Havilland Dash 8-400, en-route from Seattle, Washington, to Santa Rosa, was approaching the runway when it collided with a deer.

    The plane landed safely.

    All passengers aboard remained unhurt.

    Ural Airlines Plane Returns to Russia after Bird Strike

    Ural Airlines flight U6-3735 had to return and make an emergency landing at Koltsovo Airport, Yekaterinburg, Russia, on May 13th.

    The Airbus A321-200 flying to Antalya, Turkey, had to return due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 220 passengers and 8 crew members remained unhurt.

    British Airways Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Egypt after Passenger Falls Sick

    British airwaysBritish Airways plane had to divert and make emergency landing at Cairo International Airport, Cairo, Egypt, on April 14th.

    The aircraft en-route from Hurgahada, Egypt to London, UK, had to return shortly afterwards after a female passenger onboard fell sick.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    The passenger was given medical assistance, and the plane resumed its flight.

    Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing on I-8 in Arizona

    A small plane made an emergency landing on Eastbound Interstate 8 near Stanfield, Arizona, at around 6:27 p.m. on November 11.

    According to Tim Gaffney, director of administration for the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, the FAA informed the authorities about a small aircraft that sent a mayday signal and was descending.

    The pilot, his wife and 10-year-old daughter remained uninjured.

    The eastbound lanes were closed for traffic immediately after the incident but were re-opened at around 9:45 p.m.

    The FAA will investigate.
