A Virgin Australia plane had to make an emergency landing at Brisbane International Airport in Queensland, Australia, on February 17.
The plane was heading from Sydney International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport, California, when the airline received a bomb threat and decided to divert it for an emergency landing.
The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.
The authorities later confirmed that the threat was a hoax.

What: South African Express Airways Canadair CRJ-200 en route from Cape Town to Windhoek

When: April 17 2010
Why: The SAX CRJ landed with a hung nose wheel. (belly landing?) After landing with nose gear up, there were no injuries although airport operations were disrupted.
A plane operated by Madagascar Trans Air crashed in Antananarivo, Madagascar, on June 18th.
The Piper PA 31 plane was carrying five people when it went down.
All five occupants of the plane were killed in the crash.
The Civil Aviation Accident and Incident Investigation Bureau team is investigating the cause of crash.
Primera Air Nordic flight 6F-108 overran the end of the runway at Keflavik International Airport, Iceland, on April 28th.
The incident happened after the Boeing 737-800 plane flying from Alicante, Spain, landed during heavy snowfall.
There were 137 people aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.
The incident is being investigated.
Finnair flight AY-427 had to return and make an emergency landing in Helsinki, Finland, on November 19th.
The plane took off for Rovaniemi, Finland, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a lightning strike.
The plane landed safely. All 166 people aboard remained unharmed.
The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.
TUIFly Nordic flight 6B-554 had to return and make an emergency landing at Alghero-Fertilia Airport, Italy, on August 17.
The Boeing 737-800 en-route to Oslo, Norway, had to return after it ingested a number of birds into one of its engines.
The plane landed safely.
All 176 people aboard remained unhurt.
What: United Express/Atlantic Southeast Airlines en route from Burlington International Airport to Washington-Dulles in Virginia
Where: Burlington International Airport, Vermont
When: Jan 24, 2010 6:45 a.m.
Who: 43 passengers
Why: While en route, the pilot was having trouble steering; a light indicated that a passenger door was open. A “Phase 5 Emergency” was declared, and rescue vehicles were on standby.
The flight returned to Burlington International Airport not long after takeoff and made a safe landing.
There were no injuries reported.
