What: single engine turboprop( Pilatus PC-12) owned by Eagle Cap Leasing en route from Oroville, Calif. (Brown Field Municipal airport in San Diego to Vacaville, Calif. to Oroville ) to Bozeman
Where: On approach to the Butte airport
When: Sunday March 22
Who: 17 Passengers included up to a dozen kids
Why: Prior to the crash, the pilot diverted from Butte to Bozeman but 500 feet from the airport, a witness said the plane made a number of sharp turns and nosedived into the ground. Seventeen bodies have been recovered, (12 is the upper limit) several more than should be boarded on the type of plane. The cause of the crash is under investigation.Japanese Video

Why: The SM-92T plane was carrying one pilot and seven parachutists. According to the MOE, the aircraft performed a U-turn, then began to lose altitude and crashed into the ground in Chelyabinsk. The crash occurred immediately after takeoff from Kalacheva Airport.All were fatalities.
The GU Emergency Operations Group were on site in the recovery operation.

Why: While en route, the plane developed engine problems.The pilot made an emergency landing and flipped over after touchdown. He was able to extricate himself on his own, and was ported to Riverside Community Hospital with a broken nose and other injuries.

Why: After experiencing an engine problem, the crew burned fuel and landed safely at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport. No injuries were reported.
