    Sunexpress Boeing Emergency Landing

    What: Sunexpress Boeing 737-800 en route from Antalya to Saarbruecken, Germany
    Where: Antalya Turkey
    When: Nov 7th 2009
    Who: 127 passengers
    Why: After takeoff, the flight developed a problem with cabin pressure, and also developed a smoky smell. The plane returned to Turkey for a safe landing.

    Passengers debarked without incident, and were provided an alternative flight.
    The smell was determined to have originated in the oxygen generators.

    Piper Crashes in Delaware


    On January 13, 2013, a Piper 28R-200 Cherokee Arrow B was en route from Georgia, and contacted Dover Air Force Base with a PAN (three repetitions of pan-pan signify an urgency on board) before crashing in heavy fog.

    At 7:10, Dover initiated a search for the Cherokee Arrow. Fire services from Camden, Cheswold, Dover, Frederica, Hartly and Leipsic searched; the Little Creek Fire Company found the wreckage in Delaware at 9:35.

    The pilot’s body was recovered from the scene.

    Delta Airlines Plane Returns to Georgia due to deflated tyres

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight 1171 had to return and make a safe emergency landing at Hartsfield- Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Atlanta, Georgia, on August 12th.

    The McDonnell Douglas MD-88 had to return after the crew detected deflated landing gear tyres during the takeoff rollout.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 148 people onboard remained unharmed.

    The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

    Cracked Window Leads to Emergency Landing

    What: BMI Baby jet Flight WW1022en route from from Belfast
    Where: Birmingham International Terminal One
    When: 19 November 2008 9.30am
    Who: 76 passengers and five crew members
    Why: The plane declared an emergency landing due to a cracked side window.

    Delta Airlines Flight Returns to St. Louis After Bird Strikes

    Delta Airlines flight DL-1080 made an emergency landing in St. Louis, Missouri, on August 18th.

    The Boeing 737-900 plane took off for Atlanta, Georgia, but had to turn back due to multiple bird strikes.

    The plane landed back safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Airbus out of London Depressurizes

    What: British Airways Airbus A319-100 en route from London Heathrow UK to Oslo Norway
    Where: en route
    When: Jun 27th 2009
    Who: 70 passengers, 6 crew
    Why: 40 minutes from London, the flight experienced a loss of cabin pressure, so they turned back and made a safe landing. British Airways rebooked the passengers for a flight Sunday and provided hotel accommodations.
