Compass Airlines Flight Diverts to PDX due to Disruptive Passenger

Compass Airlines flight CP-6054 made an emergency landing at Portland International Airport, Oregon, on February 13th.

The plane heading from Seattle, Washington, to Los Angeles, California, was diverted due to a disruptive passenger. It is believed that the passenger, identified as 21-year-old Douglas B. Smyser, kept walking toward the cockpit and had to be restrained.

The plane landed safely.

JetBlue flight B6-1206 had to return and make an emergency landing at Portland International Airport, Oregon, on November 26th.

The plane took off for John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.

The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Small Plane Crashes in Baker City, OR; Two Killed

A small plane crashed in Baker City, Oregon, on August 11th.

It is believed that the plane flying from Caldwell, Idaho, was on its way to Baker City Municipal Airport when it went down.

There were two people aboard at the time; both were killed in the crash.

Small Plane Crashes in Salem, OR; Pilot Killed

A small plane crashed near Blue Skies Farm airport in Salem, Oregon, on June 4th.

Authorities said the Kit Fox 1 plane crashed in the 6700 block of Lardon Road Northeast.

The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was killed in the crash. He was identified as Norman Newton, 40 of Salem.

The NTSB is investigating.

Two Injured After Small Plane Crashes in Oregon

A small plane crashed near Hillsboro, Oregon, on April 26th.

Gennaro Avolio, 88, and his passenger Gary Hagstrom, 73, were aboard the plane when it went down in an orchard.

Both occupants of the plane were seriously injured. They were taken to a hospital in Portland, Oregon.

United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at PDX

United Airlines flight UA-1551 made an emergency landing in Portland, Oregon, on February 25th.

The Boeing 737-900 plane took off from Newark, New Jersey, but blew a tire during departure.

The crew decided to continue the flight and requested assistance at Portland Airport.

The plane landed safely and was towed to the gate. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

Delta Airlines flight DL-5750 made an emergency landing in Eugene, Oregon, on November 8th.

The plane flying from Salt Lake City, Utah, was on final approach to Eugene when the crew went around reporting a nose gear steering problem.

The plane subsequently landed safely on second approach. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

A small plane crashed in Klamath County, Oregon, on October 1st.

The plane, carrying two people, was heading from Klamath Falls to Medford, Oregon, when it went down in a remote, forested area.

Both occupants of the plane were killed in the crash. The deceased were identified as Chantal Canopii, 60, and her husband Juan Canopii, 54.
