SkyWest Airlines flight OO-3473 had to return and make an emergency landing in Portland, Oregon, on September 30th.
The Embraer ERJ-175 plane took off for Seattle, Washington, but had to return shortly afterwards due to bird strikes that caused damage to one of the engines.
The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
A small plane crashed near Hillsboro, Oregon, on April 26th.
Gennaro Avolio, 88, and his passenger Gary Hagstrom, 73, were aboard the plane when it went down in an orchard.
Both occupants of the plane were seriously injured. They were taken to a hospital in Portland, Oregon.

The Airbus A330-300 plane heading from Perth to Sydney, Australia, was diverted due to loss of cabin pressure.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Who: Pilot Daniel Marcotte, 34, of Bakersfield was the only one aboard. He was not injured.
Why: The plane developed engine trouble.
Qatar Airways flight QR-601 had to return and make an emergency landing at Bacha Khan International Airport, Peshawar, Pakistan, on September 20.
The Airbus A320-200 flying to Doha, Qatar, had to return due to smoke developing in its cabin.
The plane landed safely.
No one was injured.
A Piper Sport aircraft crashed at the north end of Atlanta Regional Airport, located in Peachtree City of Fayette County, Georgia, at 9:18 a.m. on June 29.
According to a spokesperson of the Federal Aviation Administration, the aircraft went down at the end of the runway 31, shortly after it took off.
According to Lt. Mark Brown of the Peachtree City Police, pilot John Ritchey, 64, of Fayetteville, was seriously injured and was taken by med-evac helicopter to Atlanta Medical Center.
The FAA has launched investigation into the crash.

Why: After takeoff, the plane developed a leak and shut down an engine. The flight diverted to Elmira where they made a safe landing minus one engine.
