A chopper carrying the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh (UP), Akhilesh Yadav and his wife Dimple Yadav had to make an emergency landing at Amausi airport, Lucknow, India.
According to the authorities, the decision for emergency landing was made after an eagle struck the front window pane of the chopper, at a height of 3000 feet. The pilots then made an uneventful emergency landing at Lucknow airport, which was about 12 km away at the time of incident.
The chief minister, along with his wife, was returning back after attending the last rituals of his uncle Ratan Singh Yadav in Saifai, Etawah District of UP. His private chopper was originally scheduled to land in La Martiniere college, near his residence.
