    Aerolineas Argentinas Flight Rejects Take-Off From JFK Airport

    Aerolineas Argentinas Airlines flight AR-1301 had to reject take off from John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, on February 9th.

    The Airbus A330-200 plane was accelerating to take off for Buenos Aires, Argentina, when the crew rejected take-off due to an engine stall.

    The plane safely returned to the apron. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Suspicious Man Rams Pickup Truck into Southwest Plane in Nebraska

    southwest_airlines_logoA man wearing boxers scaled a fence and rammed into a pickup truck into a Southwest airplane at Eppley Airfield, Omaha, Nebraska, on August 25th.

    The aircraft was bound for Denver, Colorado, when the man drove the truck and rammed it into the plane’s nose gear.

    Two crew members and one passenger sustained minor injuries in the accident.

    The man was taken into police custody for further investigation.

    United Airlines Flight Overruns Runway at Green Bay-Austin Straubel International Airport

    United Airlines flight UA-878 overran the end of the runway during landing at Green Bay-Austin Straubel International Airport, Wisconsin, on February 23rd.

    The Boeing 737-900 plane, flying from Madison, Wisconsin, was originally scheduled for Minneapolis, Minnesota. However, the pilots decided to divert to Green Bay due to bad weather in Minneapolis.

    The plane came to stop about 250 feet off the runway.

    All one hundred eighty passengers and seven crew members remained uninjured.

    NTSB Issues Cessna Service Letter


    After three Cessna Aircraft Company (Cessna) 560XL airplanes experienced loss of rudder control after ice built up inside the tailcone, it was established that water can collect and freeze inside the tailcone.

    Consequently Cessna service letter 560XL-53-08 was written.

    United Express Flight Makes Emergency Landing Due to Cabin Depressurization

    United ExpressA United Express flight had to make an emergency landing in Springfield, Missouri, on October 24.

    The flight, en-route from Birmingham, Alabama to Denver, Colorado, was diverted after crew reported cabin depressurization problem.

    The plane landed uneventfully. The airport spokesperson confirmed that 3 passengers were treated for nose and sinus issues which commonly occur in case of cabin depressurization.

    The airline arranged another aircraft which took the passengers to their destination.

    8 Die in Botswana Crash

    What: Moremi Air Cessna 208B Grand Caravan en route from Xakanaka Airstrip to Pom Pom Camp Airstrip
    Where: Xaxanaka (Botswana)
    When: OCT 14 2011
    Who: 12 aboard, 8 fatalities
    Why: A Moremi Air Cessna crashed in Botswana in the Okavango Delta soon after takeoff. Fatalities include the pilot and seven tourists. Four Swedes, two Brits, and two French were burned beyond recognition. One of the twelve people aboard actually jumped out of the plane while it was in the air, to avoid the fire, and that individual died at Maun Airport.

    The four who survived include two Botswanan officials of the Department of Road Transport and Safety, and a french couple treated at Delta Private Hospital in Maun. The husband had burns, the wife was unhurt. One of the vehicle examiners, Bernard Lottering, kicked out a window when the plane landed, then facilitated his colleague’s exit.

    The crash is under investigation.
