    Mexican Plane Crash, 14 fatalities


    On Nov 14, 2013, an Aereo Services Guerrero Cessna 208B Grand Caravan en route from Loreto to Ciudad Constitucion was lost en route. All attempts to contact the plane from ATC failed.

    Locals reported seeing the plane flying low in Tembabichi. Search perimeters were extablished but Tropical Storm Octave with 50 mph winds interfered with the flight as well as the search.

    The wreckage was found at Agua Verde and Tembabichi area, Baja California Sur.

    The wreckage was found on Oct 17, 2013, with fourteen passengers were aboard, all fatalities.

    Jenni Rivera Flight Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed in LA

    Even though Rivera had filed for divorce, the widower of Jenni Rivera, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Esteban Loaiza, is suing the owners of the Learjet that crashed on Dec. 9, 2012, killing the Mexican-American “Diva de la Banda” and six others. The wrongful death lawsuit in in Los Angeles Superior Court claims that the 78-year-old pilot and the co-pilot weren’t licensed to fly paying passengers.Also, the 43 year old jet flew unevenly and trembled when it hit cruising speed.

    The families of four of the others, Rivera’s deceased publicist, makeup artist, hairstylist and attorney filed a wrongful death lawsuit in January 2013.

    The pilot exceeded the age limit for the kind of license he obtained from Mexico, a fact for which Mexico’s civil aviation holds Mexico accountable. The pilot and co-pilot also died in the crash.

    The plane’s owners were Starwood Management LLC and its parent company, Rodatz Financial Group.

    The plane took off from Monterey and crashed within fifteen minutes.

    José Francisco Blake Mora Dead in Chopper Crash

    Where: Temamatla , Edo de Mexico
    When: Nov 11, 2011, around noon
    Who: 9 aboard, 9 fatalities
    Why: A Mexican government helicopter en route from Mexico City to Cuernavaca carrying 9 passengers crashed, killing everyone aboard.

    Those aboard included José Francisco Blake Mora, Secretary of the Interior, Felipe Zamora Castro, Legal Affairs and Secretary of the Interior Ministry DH, Jose Alfredo Garcia Medina, director of social communication Interior Ministry, Diana Miriam Hayton Sanchez, technical secretary of the office, and Major Rene de Leon, Lt. Col. Philip Bacio Cortes, Jorge Luis Juarez Gomez, Ramon Escobar Segundo and Pedro Teninete Becerra.

    The chopper was en route to a prosecutors meeting. It went down in heavy cloud cover, so weather is considered to be a factor. Mexico’s No. 2 official, Francisco Blake Mora, who embodied Mexican government’s get-tough attitude, is one of the victims of the crash. Mora been a key figure in Mexico’s battle with drug cartels and he oversaw disaster response, like the pipeline explosion in San Martin Texmelucan in 2010. He is the 2nd interior secretary in this administration to die in an air accident.

    Two Dead after Small Plane Crashes in New Mexico

    A small plane crashed near Ohkay Owingeh Airport in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, on March 11th.

    The single-engine Remos GX light sport airplane went down around 50 feet from the outer fence of the airport.

    There were two people aboard the plane, including the pilot Karen Ann Young, 46, and the co-pilot Thomas Spickermann, 47; both of them were killed in the crash.

    The FAA is investigating.

    Helicopter Crashed near France-Switzerland Border; 5 Killed

    helicopterA helicopter crashed in the garden of a house located in the suburbs of Montbeliard, France, on the morning of October 2.

    The accident happened after the EC130 helicopter departed from an airport in Lausanne, Switzerland, with 7 people aboard. The French police confirmed that the aircraft came down just a few hundred meters from the Montbeliard aerodrome, around 13 kilometers from the France-Switzerland border.

    The police also said, “Of the seven Swiss people on board, five have died, one has been rushed to hospital with multiple injuries and the seventh person, whose condition is not yet known, is being pulled out.” The deceased include 6 men and a woman.

    The cause of crash is not clear at the moment.

    Small Plane Crashes in Baker City, OR; Two Killed

    A small plane crashed in Baker City, Oregon, on August 11th.

    It is believed that the plane flying from Caldwell, Idaho, was on its way to Baker City Municipal Airport when it went down.

    There were two people aboard at the time; both were killed in the crash.
