    Sun Express Germany makes Crash Landing in Germany

    Sun expressSun Express Germany flight XG-3264 made a crash landing at Stuttgart Airport, Germany, on July 31st.

    The Boeing 737-800 en-route from Varna, Bulgaria, was on the taxiway when it failed to follow the turn and hit the grass between taxiway and runway.

    The plane received minor damage.

    No one was injured.

    Vintage Airplane Crashed in Minnesota

    A vintage plane veered off the runway into a deep drainage ditch during landing at the Rush City Airport in east-central Minnesota.

    The incident happened during the Rush City Fly-in on the morning of June 8.

    The pilot from Amery, Wisconsin, was uninjured.

    The 1936 Tailor J2 aircraft sustained damage at the front end, including a broken propeller and broken landing gear.

    The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of crash.

    Pobeda Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Engine Indication

    Pobeda Airlines flight DP-163 had to return and make an emergency landing at Vnukovo International Airport, Russia, on May 19th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Astrakhan, Russia, but had to turn back after the crew received indication of an engine issue.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and seventy people aboard remained unharmed.

    Cessna Crashed in Brazil; 2 Killed, 2 Injured

    CessnaA single-engine Cessna 177 crashed in Curitiba, a city in southern Brazil, on August 30.

    The aircraft was heading to the city of Londrina when it developed some engine problem and crashed in a residential area.

    Two of the four people aboard died on the spot, one suffered serious injuries while the fourth person survived with minor injuries.

    The injured were taken to a local hospital. No one on the ground suffered any loss.

    The cause of crash is not clear at the moment.

    Emergency: Air India Hard Landing at Thiruvananthapuram

    What: Air India A-330 en route from Thiruvananthapuram to Dammam Saudi Arabia
    Where: Thiruvananthapuram
    When: Nov 10, 2010, 6 pm
    Who: 82 passengers including two infants
    Why: The flight had a normal takeoff, but forty minutes into the route, the pilot received a sensor warning about the plane’s doors. The jet returned to the airport, circled to burn off fuel, and made a hard landing during which a tire burst and the brakes jammed. The plane was stuck on the runway for four hours.

    Passengers were rebooked on a Thursday morning flight out and provided overnight hotel accommodations.

    Officials of the Director General of Civil Aviation have arrived to begin the official inquiry.

    Asiana Cargo Jet Lost at Sea

    What: Asiana Boeing 747-400 Cargo plane en route from South Korea’s Incheon International Airport and to Pudong China
    Where: southern resort island of Jeju, South Korea
    When: July 27, 2011 3:05am local time
    Who: two people
    Why: At 7600 feet, the crew reported control problems, and the aircraft’s transponder transmitted the emergency code. Sixty-seven minutes after takeoff, the crew reported fire in the cargo hold and lost contact with ATC. They were planning to divert to Jeju, but instead the plane crashed off of Jeju island. There were strong winds at the time of the plane’s disappearance. The captain was 51 and the first officer was 44; and pilot, Choi Sang-ki, and co-pilot, Lee Jung-woong are still missing.

    One wing of the plane has been recovered, then the rest of the wreckage was found by a coast guard patrol boat 67 miles west of Jeju city. The 58 tons of cargo included amino acid solution, synthetic resin, lithium batteries, paint and other potentially dangerous material. A search for the black boxes is ongoing.
