    Croatia Airlines Plane Returns and Makes Emergency Landing in Germany

    Croatia Airlines flight OU-417 had to return and make an emergency landing at Frankfurt Airport, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, on March 31st.

    The Airbus A320-200, en-route to Zagreb, Croatia, had just departed Frankfurt’s runway when the crew reported hydraulic problems, resulting in landing gear retraction issue, prompting the plane to return.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All people onboard remained unharmed.

  • Accidental death verdicts

    The death of 4 individuals–pilot, Martin Rhodes, 48, of Stoke-on-Trent, Simon Marshall, 51, of Lichfield, Ryan Birch, 15, and his father, Tony Birch, 52, of Wolverhampton, have been recorded as accidental deaths. They were flying to France in a Piper Cherokee light aircraft when it crashed close to the Isle of Wight Airport, in Sandown, on August 5, 2007.

    Lufthansa Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Serbia

    Lufthansa flight LH-1410 made an emergency landing in Belgrade, Serbia, on July 22nd.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Frankfurt, Germany, was on final approach to Belgrade when the crew went around due to unsafe gear.

    The plane subsequently landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Why: The plane had taken off when systems indicated a technical problem.

    Radio Vesti FM said that pilots diverted to Ekaterinburg where they made a safe landing. The departure from Ekaterinburg occurred seven hours later.

    Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Indianapolis

    Delta Airlines flight DL-2848 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Indianapolis, Indiana, on October 1st.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane heading from Detroit, Michigan, to Saint Louis, Missouri, was diverted after an odor was noticed in the cockpit.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    American Airlines Airbus Returns to Tampa due to Engine Issue

    American AirlinesAmerican Airlines flight AA-782 made an emergency return to Tampa International Airport, Florida, USA, on November 25.

    The Airbus A320-200 was en-route from Tampa to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, when the left hand engine was shut down due to over temperature, causing it to return.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 135 passengers aboard remained unhurt.
