What: AirAsia Airbus A320-216 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching

Why: While landing in heavy rain, the plane skidded off the runway and came to a stop between two taxiways.
4 passengers were hospitalized, but no injuries were reported.
Substantial tire and gear damage may have occurred from the recovery efforts.
Frontier Airlines flight F9-429 made an emergency landing in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 20th.
The Airbus A320-200N plane heading from Denver, Colorado, to Reno, Nevada, was diverted due to an issue with one of the navigation computers.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
On August 30, 2013, a Thai Airways Airbus A380 en route from Bangkok,Thailand, to Hong Kong flew into turbulent air that caused loose property to bounce to the ceiling. Some of the passengers bounced from the ceiling to the floor as well. Some of the loose items caused minor damage inside the plane, to lockers and ceiling.
The turbulence lasted only a few seconds.
Pilots landed safely.
Of the 504 passengers 38 passengers were injured by turbulence and hospitalized.
One of the 26 crew was injured and hospitalized on landing.

What: Iran Air Boeing 727-200 en route from Chah-Bahar to Zahedan

Who: Not available
Why: While enroute, the cabin pressure dropped rapidly. Oxygen masks were deployed, and the plane began an emergency descent to height where a safe pressure could be maintained. The flight continued on to its destination and landed safely.
The crisis is speculated to be due to a malfunctioning or blocked valve in the air conditioning system.

What: Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700 en route from Oakland to Burbank,CA

Who: 119 passengers and 5 crew
Why: Approaching the runway prior to takeoff, a a Cessna 172 passed over the passed over the 737, with a clearance of 200 feet (vertical) and 10 feet (lateral).
The NTSB is investigating.
What: S7 Sibir Airlines Airbus A319-100 en route from Perm to Moscow
Where: Moscow
When: Aug 6th 2010 19:47 Moscow time
Who: 94 passengers
Why: On landing approach, the Airbus hydraulics failed. The pilot managed a safe landing. Smoke from forest fires did not impair visibility.
No surprise to me. Details of the hydraulic issue might be of interest.
I recall S7 Airlines Flight 778, an Airbus A310 with 193 passengers and 10 crew members aboard. On landing at Irkutsk , the airbus had a runway overrun. 124 people died when it crashed into the runway barrier.

Why: As mechanics were testing the engine of a Delta Boeing 737 at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the plane developed braking problems. The jet ended at an awkward angle on a hill just off a runway.
The jet sustained damage but none of the mechanics were injured.
