What: U S Airways Boeing 757-200 from Philadelphia to Brussels

Why: The flight diverted to Stephenville when there was smoke in the cockpit. Passengers disembarked, and waited in the terminal until the replacement flight arrived at 5:30 a.m.
Norwegian Air Shuttle flight DY-1348 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Stavanger, Norway, on December 16th.
The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Oslo, Norway, to Manchester, United Kingdom, was diverted after the crew noticed smoke in cockpit.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

What: Iberia Airbus A320-200 en route from Madrid to Dublin
Where: Madrid
When: Aug 15 2010
Why: Before takeoff, the air conditioning was “repaired.” After takeoff, cabin temperatures rose. The air conditioning system continued failing, and the pilot returned to the airport half an hour later.
A replacement jet was provided.

Why: Pilot Hernie Cordova and Edgar Zevallo were killed; the survivors are Chugudaly Davila and Pedro Paredes Vela Junio.
A U.S. Airways flight had to return and make an emergency landing at Baltimore–Washington International Airport in Baltimore, Maryland, on March 29.
According to airport spokesperson Jonathan Green, the plane, heading to phoenix, had to return after a bird hit its windshield.
The plane landed back uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.
Scandinavian Airlines flight SK-4743 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on May 29th.

A 2:10p.m GoAir flight G8302 Airbus A320 from Chennai to Mumbai made an emergency landing when the plane filled with smoke, probably from the air conditioning vents.
As soon as the plane made a safe landing, passengers disembarked and were moved a safe distance from the plane. There were over 50 passengers aboard.
The plane made it halfway to Mumbai when the pilots had to turn back to Chennai.
The problem is probably the AC system. An investigation is underway.
