Jet Airways Emergency Takes off in Mumbai. But the plane does not…

What: Jet Airways Boeing 737-800 en route from Mumbai to Chennai
Where: Mumbai
When: Aug 27th 2010
Who: 140 passengers, 6 crew
Why: While taxiing for takeoff, off duty crew reported smoke near the left wing; procedures were not followed (i.e. fire suppression system was not engaged.)

The flight was evacuated; 26 passengers were injured, and the plane received damage from exiting passengers via the overwing exit.

India suspended he six crew members as well as 4 additional crew aboard.

No fire was found.

    Asiana Airlines Plane makes Hard Landing in Japan

    asianaAsiana Airlines flight OZ-116 made a hard landing at Kansai International Airport, Osaka, Japan, on December 1.

    The Boeing 767-300, flying from Seoul, South Korea, was about to land when he crew noticed an indication of some issue with its left side main gear.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 149 people aboard remained unhurt.

    Condor Airlines Flight Returns to Dominican Republic

    The Boeing 767-300 took off for Frankfurt, Germany, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a strong odor on-board.

    Bird-Hit ANA Plane Makes Safe Landing in San Jose

    All Nippon Airways flight NH-172 made a safe landing following bird strikes near San Jose, California, on March 26th.

    The Boeing 787-800 plane flying from Tokyo, Japan, was on final approach to San Jose when it received multiple bird strikes.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Tailwind Airlines Plane Diverts to Sofia due to Loss in Cabin Pressure

    Tailwind Airlines flight XC-1845 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Sofia Airport, Bulgaria, on March 11th.

    The Boeing 737-400, flying on behalf of Corendon Air, was en-route from Antalya, Turkey, to Zurich, Switzerland, had to divert due to a loss in cabin pressure.

    The oxygen masks were released for the passengers, and they complained pressure and pain in ears.

    The plane landed safely.

    IndiGo Flight Diverts to Bhubaneswar due to Medical Emergency

    IndiGo flight 6E 822 made an emergency landing in Bhubaneswar, India, on December 22nd.

    The plane heading from Kolkata to Bengaluru, India, was diverted after a 32-year-old male passenger suffered a medical emergency.

    The plane landed safely. The patient was rushed to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar where the doctors later declared him dead.
