    JetBlue Flight Made Emergency Landing at Logan Airport

    JetBlueJetBlue flight 1668, en route from Charleston International Airport, made an emergency landing at Boston Logan International Airport at about 3:25 p.m. on August 4.

    According to JetBlue spokeswoman Real Hamilton-Romeo, the emergency was declared after the aircraft, with 95 passengers aboard, experienced a mechanical problem prior to landing.

    The plane landed safely and no one was hurt. Massport’s emergency response team received the plane as it touched the ground.

    The FAA is investigating the incident.

    US-Bangla Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Nose Gear Issue

    US-Bangla Airlines flight BS-141 made an emergency landing at Chittagong airport, Bangladesh, on September 26th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, was diverted after the crew failed to extend the nose gear.

    The plane landed without nose gear and was subsequently evacuated.

    Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Wizz Air Plane Returns to Romania After Bird Strike

    Wizz Air flight W6-3773 had to return and make an emergency landing in Sibiu, Romania, on May 18th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Dortmund, Germany, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Air Peace Flight Returns to Port Harcourt, Nigeria after Smoke Indication

    air peaceAir Peace flight 4P-7191 had to return and make an emergency landing at Port Harcourt International Airport in Nigeria, on March 12th.

    The plane took off for Lagos, Nigeria, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a smoke detector indication.

    The Boeing 737-500 plane landed safely. No injuries were reported.

    The airline said the smoke indication turned out to be false.

    Nashville-Bound United Airlines Flight Suffers Bird Strike

    United Airlines flight UA-6176 suffered a bird strike on the way to Nashville, Tennessee, on July 10th.

    The incident happened when the plane flying from Washington Dulles International Airport, Virginia, was on approach to Nashville International Airport.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    What: Avro504K replica bi-plane
    Where: Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, Stone Church Road and Norton Avenue in Red Hook, just north of the Rhinebeck line.
    When: Saturday October 17 2009
    Who: pilot William Gordan
    Why: The engine stalled at an altitude of about 300 feet, crashed into a swamp on the aerodrome property, causing the top wings to collapse. Its lower wings sustained damage. By the time assistance arrived, the pilot had already climbed out of the plane.
