On January 19, 2013, a PT. Intan Angkasa Piper PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftain was en route from Sentani to Surabaya when it was struck by lightning. It fell on the Un beach in Tual but no one on the ground was injured. No one on the plane survived. There were four people aboard—the pilot and three crew.
The plane was coming from Sentani Papua and its final intended stop was Ambon, Malaku.
The actual cause of the accident has not been determined. Reports are that residents saw the plane falling in fire from the sky.

An ambulance is responded to the crash, which is located in the 15000 block of Treasure Cove in Bullard. In the adjacent neighborhood, witnesses heard the thud, smelled the fumes and saw flying debris. Investigators speculate he was aiming for the lake, and trying to avoid the neighborhood.
What: Batavia Air Airbus A320-200 en route from Makassar to Jayapura Where: Jayapura When: Feb 7th 2012 Who: 148 passengers and 6 crew Why: On landing in Jayapura, the flight encountered a strong storm.
Landing in rain, the plane overran the runway but did stop on pavement. The plane was towed to the gate where passengers disembarked normally.
No passengers were injured. The plane did not end up mired in soft ground, but abrasions on the plane’s skin, and lights on the runway were reported as the extent of the damage.

A single-engine Piper PA 46 crashed a few hundred yards northwest of the runway of Erie Municipal Airport, Weld County, Colorado, at around 11:40 a.m. on August 31.
The accident happened when the six-seater plane, which took off from Centennial Airport, was attempting to land Erie Municipal Airport.
The plane was carrying 5 people and a dog at the time of accident; Erie authorities confirmed that all of them were killed.
The FAA and the NTSB are jointly investigating the reasons of crash.

A Peruvian National Police Bell UH-1H with three aboard was en route from Tangier Island airport 8:05 p.m. when it crashed over an area of coca cultivation during night training.
The wreckage was located near Tingo Maria Peru on La Moyuna Mountain.
Base control indicated that before communication broke off at 8:00 pm, the helicopter was in distress.
The helicopter worked the area of ??Leoncio Prado and Alto Huallaga (Tingo María) under drug control in cooperation with the United States.
The three crew, two officers and a sergeant of the Peruvian police members were retrieved and taken to the air base in Tingo Maria. Search teams located the helicopter five minutes from a local police base.
