    JetBlue Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Oklahoma City

    JetBlue flight B6-944 had to divert for an emergency landing in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on August 2nd.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Long Beach, California, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was diverted after several passengers complained of breathing difficulties due to an unknown odor on board.

    The plane landed safely. The affected passengers were treated at the airport. Some of them were also taken to hospitals.

    American Airlines Flight Hits Turbulence Near DFW Airport

    American Airlines flight AA-60 encountered turbulence on the way to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, on June 10th.

    The Boeing 777-200 plane flying from Narita International Airport, Japan, was on approach to DFW airport when it hit turbulence.

    The plane continued for a safe landing.

    According to the FAA, several people were injured in the incident.

    Granite Quarry Experimental Ultralight Crash

    What: Experimental Ultralight aircraft en route from Rowan County Airport to High Rock Lake,
    Where: a field close to Shaw’s Mobile Home Park
    When: Sept 30, 2012, 6 p.m.
    Who: pilot
    Why: The ultralight ppeared to stall out shortly before impact. Cecil Dwayne Brown, of West Second Street, in Faith, died in the crash. His remains were recovered within two hours of the accident.

    The plane apparently impacted power lines, causing an immediate outage.

    Homebuilt Crashes in Spain


    A homebuilt plane crashed near El Álamo, Madrid after departing from Casarrubios Airport. The pilot was the only one aboard and died in the crash.

    The plane caught on fire, and two fire crews from Madrid responded to teh scene.

    The cause of the crash has not been determined. An investigation is underway.

    The pilot was a sixty year old aeronautical engineer.

    Air Canada Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Engine Problems

    Air CanadaAir Canada flight 8650 had to return and make an emergency landing at London International Airport in London, Ontario, on September 21st.

    The plane took off for Toronto, Ontario, Canada, but had to return shortly afterwards due to engine problems.

    The plane landed safely. All 75 passengers aboard remained unharmed.

    What: Continental Airlines Boeing 737 en route from San Antonio to Houston
    Where: San Antonio
    When: Apr 28, 2011
    Who: 151 aboard
    Why: The plane had taken off and developed a “strong chemical odor.” The pilots returned to San Antonio International Airport and made a safe landing; however they did not know the cause of the odor and for caution’s sake, took the plane to the “ramp” area. Several passengers developed respiratory distress.

    The crew boarding wore hazmat suits. The source of the chemical odor was not identified.
