Wizzair flight W6-3152 made an emergency landing at Henri Coanda International Airport, Romania, on January 25th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Catania, Italy, was descending toward Bucharest when the crew reported an issue with the brakes.
The plane landed safely and was towed to the apron. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
SriLankan Airlines flight UL-891 had to return and make an emergency landing in Bangkok, Thailand, on April 7th.
The plane took off for Colombo, Sri Lanka, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported smoke in the cabin.
The Airbus A330-200 plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

What: Swiss International Airlines Airbus A330-200 en route from Zurich (Switzerland) to Nairobi (Kenya)

Why: After takeoff, the plane could not retract the flaps. The plane entered a holding pattern and burned off fuel before landing safely in Zurich.
Alrosa Airlines flight 6R-9961 had to return and make an emergency landing in Mirny, Russia, on January 5th.
The plane took off for Novosibirsk, Russia, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.
The plane landed safely. All 144 passengers and 8 crew members remained unharmed.
What: Thomas Cook Boeing 757 en route from Glasgow to Heraklion
Where: Frankfurt
Who: not available
Why: The flight was en route over Holland when one of the planes engines developed engine failure. The pilot shut down engine two and diverted to Frankfort, where they made a safe landing. Emergency services were on standby when the plane landed.
Passengers were provided accommodations and flew out the next day, although there was no Thomas Cook affiliate there, and they were not kept informed of their situation.

What: Malaysia Airlines Airbus A330-200 en route from Chennai to Kuala Lumpur

Why: While en route, the plane developed cabin pressure issues. The Free and Independent News site reported that the pilot dropped the Airbus rapidly from 39,000 to 10,000 feet. Passengers aboard the flight were screaming, crying.
Apparently the crew wasn’t in much better shape. (Panic mode)
Apparently an automated voice announced the emergency to passengers. (I wonder if it was the automatic pilot?) In the chaos, some of the oxygen masks failed. (That source also indicated 120 passengers aboard. Maybe people in a panic can’t count?)
