    What: Global Air Boeing 737-200 en route from from Mexico City to Puerto Vallarta
    Where: Puerto Vallarta
    When: Nov 4th 2010 1 p.m.
    Who: 99 passengers and 5 crew
    Why: While on approach to Puerto Vallarta, the plane’s nose gear would not extend, in spite of several flybys where the tower verified the nose gear was not extended.

    The plane eventually made a belly landing on foam with emergency services on standby. Pilot Jorge Luz Campos landed the plane with no injuries.

    Ural Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Moscow Domodedovo Airport

    Ural Airlines flight U6-2 made an emergency landing at Moscow Domodedovo Airport, Russia, on August 4th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from Sheremetyevo International Airport to Koltsovo Airport, Russia, was diverted due to an engine issue.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Air India Flight Diverts to Mumbai due to Engine Fire

    airindialogoAir India flight AI 997 had to make an emergency landing in Mumbai, India, on March 6.

    The plane, carrying more than 100 passengers, was en-route from Karippur International Airport in Kerala, India, to Sharjah, UAE, when one of its engines caught fire with a loud explosion.

    The pilot immediately diverted the plane to Mumbai, where it made an uneventful emergency landing. No one was injured.

    The airline arranged another aircraft which took the passengers to their destination.

    Lufthansa Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Ireland after Engine Failure

    LufthansaLufthansa flight LH-981 had to return and make an emergency landing at Dublin Airport, Dublin, Ireland, on March 19.

    The Airbus A319-100, flying from Dublin to Frankfurt, Germany, was mid-air when the crew detected an engine failure, prompting the plane to return.

    The plane landed safely.

    All passengers aboard remained safe.

    Emergency Landing in S.C.


    Pictured: Delta Connection (Comair) Canadair CL-600-2C10 Regional Jet CRJ-701ER over Atlanta. This one is purely a guess on my part since the info is sketchy (so far) and no registration # yet. But this jet is both Comair and Delta and CRJ, and south, so we’re probably not too far off.

    What: Delta ComAir CRJ en route from New York to Charleston
    Where: Myrtle Beach
    When: Jan 29
    Who: 17 passengers
    Why: While en route, the plane developed smoke in the cockpit and made an emergency landing in Myrtle Beach, about 100 miles north of Charleston.

    All Nippon Airways Flight Returns to Manila due to Smoke in Cockpit

    All Nippon AirwaysAll Nippon Airways flight NH950 had to return and make an emergency landing at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, Philippines, at around 10:19 a.m. on November 21.

    The incident happened after the pilot reported smoke coming out of the Boeing B767’s cockpit. The flight was heading to Narita, Japan at the time.

    The plane landed uneventfully and none of the 174 passengers and 10 crew members aboard was harmed.

    The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines is investigating.
