
On August 27 2013, a Flugschule Dortmund operated Piper PA-32R-301T Turbo Saratoga SP took off from Langeoog Airport to Arnsberg in Germany. Eight people were aboard. THe pilot reported engine problems, and his communication with ATC cut off.
The plane crashed in Wickede Germany in a field 1nm east of the runway.
Witnesses saw the plane above the forest, and it descended with a cloud of black smoke.
The pilot, another man, two women and a child died on impact. Three children survived, two of whom met rescue workers at the scene, and one who was taken from the wreckage. The wreckage was located south of the Ruhr near the boat house on the Ruhr meadows
