Swiss International Airlines flight LX-1249 made an emergency landing in Zurich, Switzerland, on September 8th.
The plane was flying from Stockholm, Sweden, when the crew declared an emergency due to an engine oil pressure problem.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Why: While en route, the flight developed a gearbox problem which necessitated the shut down of an engine. The plane landed safely in Budapest. Passengers were provided hotel accommodations.

What: TRIP Linhas Aereas Aerospatiale ATR-72-500 en route from Curitiba to Cascavel Brazil
Where: Cascavel
When: Jan 10th 2010
Who: 70 on board
Why: Near Cascavel the left engine caught fire. The engine was shut down and the fire suppression system activated and put it out. However, Cascavel was closed due to low visibility, and the flight diverted to Iguassu Falls. Cascavel travelers were bussed from Iguassu Falls.
Dourados and Campo Grande passengers were provided connecting flights.
Dec 20, 2012, at 16:30 a Bell UH-1D Huey en route from Balzers to St. Gallen, Switzerland developed engine problems.
The pilot touched down with skids, bounced, and crashed into a cottage in Rüthi in the Rhine valley about 200 meters from the highway. The gearbox and rotor were ten meters from the body of the helicopter.
The four people aboard the helicopter were hospitalized with minor injuries. Rescue services considered the damage to the helicopter and said that it was lucky there were no fatalities.
TAM Airlines flight JJ-3289 had to return and make an emergency landing at Sao Paulo–Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil, on April 26th.
The Airbus A321-200 plane took off for Porto Alegre, Brazil, but had to return shortly afterwards after its right hand engine ingested a bird.
The plane landed uneventfully. There were 211 people aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.
The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

Who: 158 aboard
Why: While en route, Jet Airways pilots had to shut down and engine and divert to Mumbai.
One of the Boeing’s engines caught on fire.
Pilots made a safe landing at Mumbai-Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. On the ground at the airport at 5:45 a.m., fire and smoke was reported coming from the left engine.
Passengers evacuated at the nearest taxiway. Emergency services put out the engine fire in minutes.
Brussels Airlines flight SN-357 had to return and make an emergency landing at Brussels Airport, Belgium, on May 13th.
The Airbus A330-300 flying to Kinshasa, Congo, had to return due to hydraulic failure.
The plane landed safely.
No one was injured.
