- At JFK a TAM flight 8078 from Rio de Janeiro to NY landed with nose gear failure
- At Kenosha Municipal Airport a plane taking off failed to gain altitude and crash landed in a Kenosha County Detention Center field. One wing struck a tree. The pilot wasn’t injured. photos
- In Anchorage Merrill Field, a red Robinson 22 lost power and crashed from a height of 10 feet (possibly while practicing hovering.) The chopper flipped and fell. The two crew fell out, and walked away.
- An overheated Era Aviation Kodiak to Anchorage flight with 31 aboard plus 3 crew diverted to Homer and made a safe landing on Sept 24.
- A Cessna 175 failed to land on a Spearfish landing strip, and made an emergency landing in a hay field where the landing gear was torn from the plane. The field caught on fire, burning to acres of grass. Pilot John Widdoss had minor injuries and passenger Justin Bierschwale was unhurt.
