    Where: East 37th Street between Boyd Lake and Rocky Mountain avenues

    Who: Pilot John Stewart and passengers Bonnie Evertson and Ryan Kole
    Why: The pilot lost power about five to eight miles south of the airport and had to land on County Road 24E. No one was injured. The plane sustained minor damage to its propeller and one wing after hitting street signs on landing.

    Delta Tire Blows at Salt Lake

    What: Delta Boeing 767-300 en route from Salt Lake City to Paris
    Where: Salt Lake International Airport
    When: June 16, 2012. 7 pm
    Who: 198 aboard
    Why: On takeoff from salt Lake City, a left tire on the Delta flight blew. Pilots circled, performed a flyby and dumped fuel before they made a safe landing.

    The plane was examined in the hanger, and passengers returned home when the flight was cancelled.

    ANZ Plane Diverts to New Zealand after Bird Strike

    ANZ Air New Zealand flight NZ-680 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Christchurch International Airport, Christchurch, New Zealand, on May 5th.

    The Airbus A320-200 flying from Dunedin to Wellington, New Zealand, had to divert after impact with a bird.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 88 passengers aboard remained safe.

    What: Pantanal Aerospatiale ATR-42-300 en route from Sao Paulo to Juiz de Fora Brazil
    Where: Congonhas
    When: Dec 8th 2009
    Who: not available
    Why: After takeoff, the flight returned to the airport, after developing smoke in the cabin. The plane landed safely.

    Maintenance traced the smoke to faulty lighting.

    Iberia Flight Returns to Mexico City due to Landing Gear Problem

    Iberia flight IB-6402 had to return and make an emergency landing in Mexico City, Mexico, on July 18th.

    The Airbus A340-600 plane took off for Madrid, Spain, but had to turn back after the crew failed to retract the landing gear.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    American Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Raleigh–Durham International Airport

    American Airlines flight AA-1889 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Raleigh–Durham International Airport, North Carolina, on May 19th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Hartford, Connecticut, was diverted after a strong electrical odor was noticed on-board.

    The plane landed safely.

    Authorities said nine people were provided medical attention at the airport, and three of them were later taken to a hospital.
