    Pirassununga Training Crash, Crew Lost

    On August 12, 2013, a Smoke Squadron A-29 Super Tucano crashed at around 9:10 a.m. near the Air Force Academy runway in Pirassununga, São Paulo.

    The pilot and co-pilot did not survive.

    The pilots, aviator Captain John and Captain Igor Silva Pivovar, were on a training mission. The Brazilian Air Force is investigating.

    Where: in an empty lot near the electrical sub station El Purino, in the west of Caldas, border with the municipality of Honda (Tolima)
    When: 18 FEB 2009
    Who: 5 crew members, three mid-ranking and two lower ranking officials all fatalities
    Why: The military “phantom” plane was on a training flight when it crashed in the vicinity of the air base.

    VivaColombia Jet Makes Emergency Landing due to Engine Failure

    Viva ColombiaVivaColombia flight 8023 had to return for making an emergency landing at the Bogota International Airport in Colombia, on February 4.

    The Medellin-bound plane departed from Bogota at around 19:00 local time but had to return immediately due to engine failure. Authorities said just moments after the plane took off, there was a loud bang in the right engine, followed by sparks and flames.

    The plane landed uneventfully. No one aboard was harmed.

    The cause of fire is not known at the moment.

    Plane Crashes Kansasville Garage

    What: Beech A36 Bonanza en route from Chicago Executive Airport to Minocqua
    Where: Eagle lake Kansasville, Racine County, WI
    When: Sept 9, 2012
    Who: 1 fatality
    Why: The pilot who had been en route from Chicago Executive Airport to Minocqua crashed into a Kansasville Wisconsin garage but avoided hitting any of the neighborhood houses in Eagle Lake. the plane, a garage, and two cars were destroyed; and two homes sustained damage. Debris and plane parts were scattered over the immediate area.

    Witnesses say that when the plane hit, it shook the neighborhood.

    The FAA and Racine County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.

    Wizz Air Flight Rejects Takeoff From Henri Coanda International Airport

    Wizz Air flight W6-3211 had to reject takeoff from Henri Coanda International Airport, Romania, on September 17th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Billund, Denmark, when the right- hand engine failed, forcing the crew to reject takeoff.

    The plane safely stopped on the adjacent taxiway and was inspected by the emergency services.

    Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Sita Air Ferry Flight makes Safe Landing in Nepal after Engine Shut Down

    Sita AirA Sita Air ferry flight make a safe emergency landing at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, Nepal, on September 16.

    The Dornier DO-228 flying from Tenzing–Hillary Airport, Lukla, Nepal, was mid-air when its left side engine stopped working. The crew had to shut the engine down.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 3 crew members and 4 technicians aboard remained unhurt.
