What: Skydive New Zealand Fletcher FU-24-954 fixed-wing plane at Fox Glacier Airport
Where: New Zealand’s South Island
When: Sept 4 2010 1.15 p.m.
Who: 8 passengers and pilot
Why: Light aircraft which was taking off for tandem skydiving crashed just after takeoff near the airstrip. The plane burst into flames on impact. The pilot and four men from Fox Glacier and four tourists from Ireland, England, Germany and Australia were aboard. The wreckage was covered by a large tarp, awaiting investigators.

Small Plane Crashed in Paulding County, Ohio
A small plane crashed near the intersection of county roads 137 and 60, northwest of Grover Hill in Paulding County, Ohio, at around 6 p.m. on November 6.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the single-engine plane was on its way from Fort Wayne International Airport to Toledo when it crashed.
It is believed that all those aboard were killed. However, the authorities did not say how many people were travelling in the aircraft at the time of crash.
The accident is under investigation.
5 Fatalities in Noxen, PA Helicopter Crash During Thunderstorm
A Robinson R66 #N646AG en route from Lehighton PA to Endecott NY with five aboard was en route when it disappeared from radar during conditions of severe thunderstorms and heavy fog. The last communication to ATC was a report around 10 pm Saturday that he was “losing altitude and would try to return to a nearby airfield.”
The fragmented wreckage was located at 1:50 p.m. in a heavily wooded area. There was no fire, and no witness.
Emergency response vehicles and personnel traveled an access road on the Mehoopany Wind Farm, a BP Wind Energy location, to the top of South Mountain. The unofficial guess at the cause of the crash is that the helicopter was caught in a thunderstorm.

Air Canada/Air Georgian Blows Tires in Albany

What: Air Canada 9 year old 19-seat Beechcraft 1900 turboprop en route from Toronto to Manchester, N.H.
Where: Albany International Airport
When: Thursday Jan 15 11 am
Who: seven passengers and two crew members
Why: The plane was landing because of a reported engine problem (an in-flight emergency when one of two turboprop engines experienced difficulty). The pilot noticed low oil pressure in the right engine; however, all four tires failed during an emergency landing at in New York. The plane landed on the main runway and stopped on four flat deflated tires at the intersection of two runways The Albany airport was closed for an hour after the landing.
Note: Tickets were sold by Air Canada, but Air Georgian operated the flight. Air Georgian president Paul Mulrooney is unsure if there was ice on the plane’s brakes or if the pilot braked too heavily, causing the tires to blow out.
Air India Express Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Kerala
An Air India Express flight had to make an emergency landing in Kochi, Kerala, India, on November 23rd.
The plane took off from Karnataka, India, and was heading to Dammam, Saudi Arabia, when it was diverted. According to Air India Express Manager Nagesh Shetty, “Suspected tail-pipe fire caused the flight to be diverted to Kochi.”
The plane landed safely. All 131 passengers and 9 crew members remained unharmed.
Four Dead in Passenger Plane Crash, Lyon
A privately owned Cessna 421C Golden Eagle en route from Lyon Bron Airport to Aix-Les-Milles/Aix En Provence Airport took off then crashed near Lyon, France. The four passengers, one of whom ejected) died in the crash.

The plane crashed in a field near the end of the runway. Fifty firefighters and sixteen vehicles, nvestigators from the RCMP Air Transport and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, responded to the scene. Four charred bodies were found in the plane, one without. Prefect Stéphane Rouvé and Lyon Prosecutor Marc Cinamonti visited the wreckage.
The names of the passengers have not been released.
Antonov Ferry Flight Down After Electrics Fail
On December 26, 2012, an Antonov 2 TP made a hard landing in Sörmland Swedon while on a ferry flight to Arizona.
THe plane suffered an electrical failure with all electrical instruments going down, forcing an emergency landing.
The pilot Cody Purdon secured a landing in a field with no damage to the plane or those aboard. Halfbrother Peter Purdon explained they had flown to Sweden to buy the plane and were flying it home to Arizona; and they will have to reassess their schedule, based on how repairs go.
